Here's a set of 15 maps. I call it Earth in motion. It's Earth through geological eras.

All maps are 180X180 and designed for Conquest.

There's a readme.txt with the name of the era for each map. The number in the name of the map indicates how many million years ago it was.

Ressources are random.

cool idea. but it sucks for some civs

Sorry for the bump.

Great maps and a very interesting idea (maybe someone could put those PTW dinosaur units on maps from the appropriate time period.) However, I would suggest removing many plant-like tile types in the precambrian era, which would be 458 MYA through 650 MYA on your map (IIRC there weren't any, if so they weren't like trees.) I realize the resources were randomly distrubuted, but maybe you could get rid of game and cattle on maps where it would be inaccurate? You probably could get by with putting them in the late Paleozoic era, since there were some air-breathing animals there (perhaps not cows, but something your civilization might use like cows in this situation.)

You're right, the maps are inaccurate. But it's a choice. As a geologist and a palaeontologist, I though I could make very acurate maps, respecting nature of those ancient times. But I realized it may not be funny for most players.

Actually, the best thing would be to have some special terrain graphic for early paleozoic, later paleozoic, mesozoic and cenozoic. Modified jungle, forests and marshes would be cool. Maybe we could ask a good designer to do it. But if it has the same success as my other requests, we can wait for a loooooong time :mischief:

Wow!!! :wow:
That's awesome!!! I want to get C3C just to play all those maps! Absolutely fantastic!

Thanks for bumping this! I would never have found it! :bump:

Wow, that's a lot of maps! Nice work, sir!

Love the maps, I think I'll be loading them into some of the fantasy mods I play.

AWESOME MAPS!

Well since it was bumped (just a bit) anyway... Nice maps. That's a really cool idea. And it looks like you followed it through with some cool maps too.

This post definately needs a good old bump!

These maps look great. I was thinking of doing this myself, for the Ogliocene period, but decided to have a scan through to see if someone had already covered it. Someone obviously has, plus a lot more.

You blew me away with the Riverworld maps, now these.

Youre bloody good at this map making lark...... I'm a trifle jealous.

That would be sweet, a decent large map of ice age europe would be splendid

not that I'm trying to be pushy, LOL
