Our foretellers warned us that one day a famous American singer would pronounce these words "to kill the yellow men". Of course we did not have the context but we got frightened enough to launch a preemptive strike.

Our troops were successfull in capturing a bunch ( ) of cities :

- Rangoon
- Mandalay
- Phuket
- Hong Kong
- Xi An
- Lanchow
- Aparri
- Manilla
- Sibu
- Davao
- Manokwari
- Guam

Man that was a long list (but it is rumored our chief of staff took two full hours just to review the plans) and now we have to keep them.

The American fleet of the Philippines was destroyed but on the other hand no ships were sunk during our strike on Hawai, only 2 fighters were destroyed. Nice defense they got there. Bad point for the future.

On the way we cleant some areas in China (3 guerillas and 2 inf), near Davao (CA sunk), near Singapore (two ugly CW BBs were sunk), Hawai (2 SS were sunk). SS Trout was also sunk in the Pacific and a guerilla defending Foochow and a LT near Manilla were destroyed. A concript ANZAC was also destroyed near Kuala Lumpur which made us do a big mistake for next turn !
That's the problem when you have dinner in the middle of your turn .

We lost 1 LT against Mandalay, 1 against XiAn (stupid mistake), 1 NI against Hong Kong (bad bet) and 1 against Phuket as well as a bomber over Pearl Harbor.

Our bombers were bad over Pearl Harbor but thye failed to destroy the connections to resources too... not a single one was touched ! Bad point for the future.

We have heard the powers we attacked decided on joining their military strength and start to fear their power. But our officers will face seppuku rather than defeat.

Japan is already beyond the 11,000 VP total.

I know I learnt a lot since my first WWII Pacific PBEM but don't forfeit too soon !

(especially as I have probably overextended).

Well, here is the feeble response by the allies:
US: BB Arizona sinks sub near Honolulu, CA Honolulu sinks sub near Honolulu, lots of bombing attempts upon Pearl Harbor strike force.

Commonwealth: Bomber sinks sub near Sibu (empty though as only 70 vp, I think...) Artillery bombards 5th Engineer Regiment near Kuala Lumpur.

China: Heavy drinking, more heavy drinking, yet more heavy drinking...

Dutch: Destroyer sinks submarine that was protecting the transport sunk by Commonwealth (the commonwealth fighters damaged it so the bombers could sink the transport, hehehehe, only good thing to really happen this turn).

Puerto Princess, Foochow, Kudat, Medan, Boela, Sarmi and Tarawa captured.

Near Hanoi, guerilla and inf destroyed. Artillery captured.
Between Canton and Wuhan, kill an inf (cost us 2 NI though).
Between KaiFeng and Beijing : clean the two inf.
Near Lanzhou : clean guerilla (but it killed us 3 !!! NI before dying
Walls of TaiYuan destroyed.
Fighters near Chungking destroyed on tarmac, airport captured.
Near Kuala Lumpur : killed 2 ANZAC, lost 1 engineer.
DD Kortenaer sunk near Ketapang.
DD Edsall sunk near Boela
SS Argonaut sunk near Midway
Our zero dogfight and destroy F4 wildcats over Hilo. We lose a bomber over the city though. Bombed some resources in Hawai.
We sink CA Honolulu and Helena, BB Arizona, Nevada and Tenessee en route to Hilo.
Destroyed Flak in Tenate.
Some damages on planes in Singapore. Our pilots still believed they were on training missions !!! Hopefully now that we have cut one head in ten they will understand it is for real.

Japan, Feb 42 :

our mighty armies continue their progression, usually threatening different cities but choosing only the ripe one to attack.

Kunming captured, no losses. Sold everything ? Not much of a surprise !
TaiYuan captured (lost 1 NI).
Lost bomber and fighter over Singapore (fighter) and 1 bomber over Ketapang (flak)
Killed 1 Dutch inf in Ketapang.
Sangkoelirang & Donggala captured (no losses). We control the Sulawesi canal.
DD sunk SS K-XII south of Donggala.
DD van Ghent sunk by air S Tenate. Tenate captured.
Dutch inf killed near Sarmi
Battle on the outskirts of Naning 2 NI vs 1 engineer + 1 Chin infantry.
DD Encounter sunk (by air) NW Koepang.
Killed Chinese inf near Hankow.
CV Enterprise sunk south of Hawai (!!!!) but I guess it was empty.
Midway heavily bombarded (fighter, bomber and barracks destroyed).

Overall not a bad turn, save for poor pilots skills.

A weird turn. Two towns I expected to take this turn resisted, one bitterly well (I underestimated the defenses and did not plan it too carefully.

On the other hand a nice progression in islands.

Anyway :

Dutch :
SS sunk NE Sangkoelirang (sitting duck) by CA
BB Kongo sinks CA Java near Menado
CA De Ruyter sunk by bombers near Tenate.
Okaba : shot one fighter, lost one. Bombarded then NI kills Dutch inf and takes the city.
In Borneo, Ketapang and Bandjermasin taken with no losses after air support.
A daring marine troop landed in empty Banjoewangi.

4 cities taken. Rubber is getting rare.

Commonwealth :
Singapore : lost fighter, kill fighter.
Battle of Mitkynia : after the worst air support I have seen we kill 1 MG and 2 ANZAC but I lost 3 Light Tanks and 1 or 2 NI !!!! And the flak was not scratched but got promoted (against LT !). City holds ! :-(
Lost marine in daring (and stupid) attack on Darwin (no scratch for the defender).
Marines kill ANZAC and capture Fiji ! with airport ! The natives appear restless however...
1 city captured only.

USA :
SS Batfish and Bream bombed to death.
Wake island attacked. 2 MG and 1 FLAK (+ 1 fighter) destroyed for the loss of 1 marine.
Left DD and SS alone.
1 city captured.

China :
3 Chinese inf and 1 guerilla killed in the (at last) storming of Nanning. No losses.
1 Chinese inf killed in Ningxia. All other attackers were relained and retreated.
Lost 1 NI attacking Chinese inf defending oil fields near Chengdu.
Battle of Hankow : artillery bombardment helped but was not enough against the hordes of conscripts defending the city. Losses : 4 or 5 Chinese inf + 1 guerilla vs 2 NI. City holds.
1 city captured.
