A problem with cities.gif

Hi, I downloaded new flag graphics (allflags.gif).I copied flags from allflags.gif to cities.gif, I saved it and when I run the game it appear grey triangels near the cities and fortify.
P.S. I done the editing of cities.gif in the windows imager

What´s the problem,please?

Is the background color of the new flags the same as the background color of the "old" flags?

No, it isn't.The old background is grey and the new is pink.

That's the problem. You need to change the background color to the background color of the "old" flags. The color selector and flood fill tool should do the trick.

This is because Civ2 reads your old background color as transparent, while it doesn't do that with the new. (If you look at your cities.gif you'll see that the same background color is used wherever the pixels should be transparent.)
