maximum hypertext links exceeded

Recently I have been receiving the message 'maximum hypertext links exceeded' when accessing the foreign advisor screen. This is not immediate, but does occur after accessing this screen a few times. I have been using this screen more frequently of late which might explain why I have not been getting these kind of errors previously.

OS is XP - 2GB Ram - Standard Civ3 (v1.29 patch) - No mods - standard map.

Does anybody have any ideas?

I get this when I play the Rise & Rule mod. This happens because there are so many links in the Civolopedia for particular items. It's a harmless message.

If I continue to play for any length of time, once the messages have started, the game will 'hang'. Also, the links you normally would see in the foreign advisor (war, alliance, rops, embargos, potential trades, etc) no longer appear and are simply replaced by a stream of 'maximum hypertext links exceeded' error messages.

Just a wild guess, but it seems like the memory/stack for hypertext links is not being cleared down properly.
