1815 - Turning the Clock Back

It is the autumn of the year 1815. Few weeks ago Napoleon, “the werewolf of Corsica”, was finally beaten in Waterloo and he has been driven into exile. In the congress held in Vienna, Austria, the leaders of all big European nations have decided how to divide Europe to ensure the safety of the European people – and also the safety of their own power. The ideals of the French revolution – i.e. liberalism, democracy, freedom of speech, equality, nationalism and so on are all considered to be threats to safety among the conservative circles, and the conservative circles are currently the ones controlling the continent as Switzerland is the only true republic in the entire Europe.
France has been given back to the royal family which controlled it before the Great Revolution in 1789, and several other adjustments have been made by Prussia, England, Austria and Russia to make the Europe safe from future Napoleons: Several dozens of small German states and city-states have been annexed into bigger states, Prussia has been granted the control of big land areas near France, Belgium has been annexed into Netherlands, Switzerland has been declared “neutral zone” and in Italy, Austria has been granted the control of Venice and Lombardy. The point of all these adjustments was to ensure that France would never again become such a threat as it was with Napoleon leading it.
And while Britain, Prussia, Austria and Russia are agonizing over liberal manifests, the Ottoman Empire is still at its power in the east…

RULES

Disclaimer: This is an experiment, so hang in there, but if all of you overwhelmingly do not like the new rules I made up I will go back to a more traditional set up.

Economy

This is done in levels. Now, there are no set number of points you can spend per level, you simply write stories and orders (this is a story NES afterall) So for example if you have a stable economy you can probably concentrate on increasing 2-3 things a turn and they will get increased. You CAN however order 10 things increased, but that just means they will all be done VERY poorly. On the other hand if you have a Powerhouse economy and you focus only on one thing that may be overkill and you will have a lot left over unused. Got it? How do you raise economy? Somehow, get more land, raise taxes, start a project, no set way, just through stories. Levels are as follows:

Shattered
Depression
Recession
Stable
Growing
Strong
Prosperous
Outstanding

Productivity:

Divided into two parts Factories and Ports. I think you can guess which one is for what. To increase it projects help, but you can also just use part of your economy to build more of them or improve the once you have. Simple, eh? They are what you need to support large armies and to build weapons etc.

Army/Navy

Everyone's favorite part. Army will be done in divisions (like Das' NES, I hope he doesnt mind) and Navy will be done in ships. Now, here is the innovation, while your armies and navies will not be shown on the map (or they may be if someone comes up with a good way to do it) their position will be shown in the stats, like so: Third Army (12) (near Warsaw) meaning that the Third Army has 12 divisions in it and is near Warsaw. Same goes for Navies.

Quality/Support

Quality is simple, how well trained and equiped your troops are. The better your factories, the better your literacy the easier it is to have good quality troops. It is again measured in levels and is raised just as all other things by allocating some of your economy to it. Levels are:

Horrible
Poor
Decent
Average
Good
Outstanding

Support is done just like Das Nes. The number on the left is how many divisions+ships you have and the number on the right is your maximum. Better productivity gives bigger support, better quality gives less support. Simple?

Literacy/Advances/Porjects

Literacy is simple, % of literate people in your country. The more the better, advances will take less, quality will go up, but if you have an opressive government revolts are more likley.

Advances are new technologies, they take time depending on how much economy you put into them and how literate your nation is. Put them in your orders and I will put them and a small description of them up, once you have the advance all of your army uses it and you can give it away to others.

Projects are like advances, except with productivity. The better your productivity the less they will take. These are like wonders and will do good things for your nation, so use them.

Stories/Orders/etc/

This is a story NES, and so while stories are not absolutley necessary they are encouraged and those who write stories will be rewarded with good things. *Ahem*Panda in Place in the Sun*Ahem*

Orders in a list please, PMed. You write what you want to do with your economy, then what you want to do with armies, then anything else. Very simple.

Most Important Rule

I want to have fun, and I think you do to, so lets do it.

Storm can we get a definitive range of orders per economy level?

no, because there isnt one. You can order as many as you want, but if I think it is too much it will not be done very well, thats all there is to it.

Edit: let me re-phrase that. The more things you order the less is done for each particular thing unless you get into the really powerful economy and then if you only order one thing it is done as well as it can be. Got it?

Confirming the Ottoman Empire. Wow, you had this thread up fast.

I try Capulet, I try ;)
