Going through the save, I've compiled a list of possible trades. Please discuss which ones you like. I will poll the most popular ones in 24 hours. Go go go!

France is only up Polytheism on us, and they lack mathematics and writing. Nothing would make them give that tech up.

Well, don't know much about such strategy but I would resist any deals with the Dutch unless it's to prevent it from dealing with another AI. We want to delay the Dutch movement into the Middle Ages and their UU, if that's still the plan.

If we give China philosophy for an MA against Persia, I would sell the Dutch philosophy for MM (on the other hand, maybe not, since that would cause us to pay, I believe). In that case China might sell them philosophy for code of laws (I don't think they would at this time, but perhaps soon). Otherwise I believe the Dutch assume we have a monopoly on philosophy; I'm guessing they don't know Maya or Byzantines.

We should look for good trading opportunities for code of laws or polytheism; they don't seem to exist at this time.

Perhaps we should talk about what conditions are acceptable for trade, instead of focusing on the trades themselves. For example how much do we need to get for Philosophy for it to be a good trade? I'll toss out "another required tech" as a starting point for what we need to be able to get from it. Does this threshold change depending on how many others have it? Once we're down to 3-4 AIs which don't have it should we bleed them for what we can, or keep them bacward? What effect will trading have, vs. the effect that not trading would have?

This is the difference between long term and short term decision making, in the Technology area. Give the DP guidelines so that if an opportunity comes up on turn 7 the game can continue instead of coming back to the forum for a discussion on that specific trade.

Any peace treaty, or gpt/resource deals for techs requires a 20 turn wait period. Also, signing a peace deal with one civ to trade techs may depreciate the tech, or the next trade might lose its' value due to our peace deal with another civ.
