Article I
The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them throughout the world shall be considered an attack against them all. Consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North and Central American region.
Article II
The Headquaters of the Democratic International Treaty Organisation shall be held in the city of Toronto, in the Confederacy of Canada. There shall be several sub HQs in important locations around the world.
Article III
The Democratic International Treaty Organisation members constitute a free trade zone and thus no tarriffs may be charged on member nations goods and services.
Article IV
The Democratic International Treaty Organisation member nations agree to co-ordinate efforts on any natural or biological disaster that affects any member nation if requested.
Article V
The Democratic International Treaty Organisation member nations agree to assit each other in educational efforts.
Article VI
Any DITO nation may introduce a resolution binding all member nations if passed by a simple majority. The current Sec-General has veto power if shown proper cause.
Article VII
Any nation requesting membership must be democratic, and futhermore must have the nomination of a current member nation. A simple majority vote from a nomination resolution is required for acceptance.
Article VIII
Any DITO nation can nominate one of its citizens to become DITO Sec-General. An election is held, using a preferential system, to find the winner. No nation can vote for its own candidate to ensure that we have no deadlocks.
