The Never Ending Story began with uknemesis. He started a thread on the Stories and Tales forums of civ3 related combat and diplomacy. THis was several years back, unfortunately i do not remember the exact date. Only a few of the writers of the true NES remain, now down only to Jason the King and Das.

Afterwards, thanks to Chieftess and Thunderfall, the NES gained its own section of the forums, despite slowly becoming entirely unrelated to civ3. Thanks to the efforts of people like das and sirian the NES became a war game, diplomacy style. For several months it remained this way, the NESes all the same, with perhaps different colors in different areas of the world map.

It all changed thanks to Toasty, who pioneered the first Return to our Roots NES. This is where I returned to the scene and joined as Italy, writing stories for corrupt Italy which sold nukes to Iraq. This NES lasted for a couple days, not much more. Soon after I created Return to Our Roots 2. With all modesty, this NES completely threw apart the old ways of board gaming and ushered in about a year of story NESes, hybrids, and story based board games. For several months there wasnt even a board game NES on the forum.

Admittedly the three main people who caused this revolution in NES were myself, SKILORD, and Jason the King. SKILORD created the first Apolyton story NES and was a steady player in RTOR 2. Jason the King had the longest running and probably most successful series of story NESes these forums have ever seen.

Within the past year, the forums have seen brand new styles of NESes, with people like warman and stalin006 leading trends of mixtures of board gaming and story. With every new NES the mix nears perfection. I can only wish these two pioneers the best of luck.

Anyways to the point. These forums have seen change after change and I feel that those new should know what they've gotten into and to give the people who made these forums what they are the credit that is due to them. I am leaving NESing, for good this time. I will no longer be on AIM or CFC. I will admit though that these forums have helped me through some hard times and given me something that really interests me.

If any of y'all want a political office when I'm elected President of the US in 2040 you only have to ask, especially Jason, warman, alex, or azale. Goodbye.

I'm honored to be even mentioned by you EQ. Good Bye EQ. the words i say cannot convey what i think inside... :(

this better not be related to you being mad at me yesterday at all, i mean Capulet first and now you?

you better not leave EQ........

but I thought you said you'd still mod :(

Alas, EQ departs our ranks as well. I hope his addiction proves too strong, ofcourse. :)

HOWEVER - my NESes were in many regards NOT board-game types, not counting the random effect used in determening battle outcomes.

Sad to see you go EQ even though I have rarely been in the same NESes as you....
Hope you come back for good next time :)

The whole RTOR2 idea (starting from 4000BC) was mine... Thanks for the credit ;)
