Guide to NESing!

Since this thread is now stickied I think I should say this:
This thread was made in order to create a guide that should help newbies understand the concept of NESing. At the moment it is far from finished. Feel free to brouse through the thread, I think you can find something usefull here. Untill the guide is finished please read the NESing Guide to Newbies. Thank you and have fun on this board

I know this is a lot of work, but in my view its worth it. If we make one complete "guide to NESing" there's a greater possibility that someone will take it, read it and maybe decides to open up a new NESing section on his forum. We all want for this idea to live and spraed. Why not take concrete steps? I've been looking for something like this place for 3 years! we cannot ignore others who might be struggling in the dark looking for us at this very moment! Let us answer the call and spread the idea for generations to come.

OK I think the outline should be like this:
1. What is Nesing /Intro
2. Game concept and what is possible
3. Types of games (fresh start, althist etc with its own rules and possibly map)
4. How to play and have fun
5. Guides to moderating
6. general tips and tricks
7. Rest

Feel free to add/delet parts of it.

I'm very happy moderating this work, it means bugging a lot of people to do the work

. Plz add ideas as you go along... let this be a discussion thread.

I'm in.

This is a pretty good place for people who have common interests in history, politics, geography, and diplomacy. I think that it will continue if we add to the foundation of this great house we all live in. :lol:

Also, I think it would be quite fitting if we have das write the introduction and explain what NESing is and how it came about.

Types of NES games could include Board NESes, "Return to Our Roots" story NESes, standard NESes, and so on.

Eh? It appeared on this forum. The first generation was... hmm.... UkNemesis, Toasty, SKILORD, JasontheKing, Ice Eye, Sheep2, Erik Mesoy, EQandCivfanatic, Sixchan, das and some others. There seems to be a second generation I missed, but I am not very sure of that. The third generation is erez (okay, maybe he was in the first generation, don't remember now), Amirsan, stalin006, Feanor (supposedly) and then some. Not sure about North King, Stormbringer and GlobalNexus, I think they should be third (but SB apparently appeared, then disappeared and finally appeared again, the last one happened already when I came back and I didn't know him previously). Fourth generation is Xen, Amenhotep7, Gelion, silver2039, fantasmo, Toteone and many others. Too long a list.

Note that many people of the First Generation are still here.

Also, I think it would be quite fitting if we have das write the introduction and explain what NESing is and how it came about.

LOL, WHY? Well, I suppose that if UK is gone forever you might as well get me to do it, so okay, when I find the time.

Das you writnig an introduction would be a very good start. Out of all the "current people" you are the best fit to write the history of NESing.

@Blackheart: the purpose of this "Guide" is to let ppl come to our forum, get the file, read it and start their own games on their forum! And thus the idea spreads!

Whoever read Evgeny's Zamyatins "We" - we are uilding our "Integral" Ship that will carry ideas of NESing to other uncivilized planets! (forums)

I came like just after fantasmo and waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before Toteone.

It's a good idea though. If anyone needs help for writing this, I would like to contribute.

Ok so I guess if I shall be organising this I need some of you to write a couple of things:
@das: please (when you have time) write the history of NESing and divide the current NESers into generations if you care to. it would look great on the actual paper: "Gelion Neser of the 4th generation says that"

@All the rest who signed up would you please write as much as you want (not a book though) on why NESing is cool and what it can be about...

@Plexus: thank you very much I will surely be using this post and a lot of info from the "Sticky" threads....

Oh and I Take All Suggestions On The Layout (Contents) Of The Actual Paper!
