R & T T4 D2 - Trade Options For 890AD

I'm not sure if we have any winners, but here are some trades that I came across. The chemistry deal is pretty meh, but we now have an option to trade for world maps. Please discuss.

The Byzantines
They Give: Music Theory, Navigation, 192g (or 10gpt)
We Give: Chemistry

They Give: World Map
We Give: World Map and one of the following: a luxury, 118g, or 7gpt.

The Mayans have furs available for trade. They want more than three luxuries and 50gpt for them...

Persia and the Hittites both have music theory. If you want it, then I could peruse a possible deal.

During the last Term 3 TC, Furiey and several others quickly debated on that issue. Many of the Civs are building JS Bach Church so we get nothing if we trade for it. Keeping Chemistry as monopoly for as long as possible prevent the AI from going toward Industrial Age, for every turn we have monopoly, is every turn we gain an advantage. So don't trade it. That my humble opinion.

Also, if beat up the French and take over Portugal, we will get Ivory because Ivory exist in Portugal territory. That will boost a lot of our cities in happiness.

I know that these aren't the most exciting deals, but I can't have Double Stack being the only one giving his opinion. I'm prepared to do the map deal (I love map information)... anyone else?

We really do not need MT. Had we got it earlier and Got J S Bach's Instead of STC, we would have more culture. I don't think we need to bother gettin MT no, so the trade does not look good. See what you can get with extra gpt.

The Byzantines have demanded stuff from us before, the Map deal for a Luxury may keep them off our backs for a bit, and we have plenty of luxuries to spare anyway.

The AIs all have prebuilds going for a long time now, cascading from one wonder to the next, one of them must be very close to Bach's. No point in buying MT now. At 6cpt culturally it's only worth 2 Libraries, so in that regard I'm not bothered that we won't get it. We're not going for 20k here after all.

Just for grins, see what we can get for one or more lux, from all the civs we don't expect to declare war on.

Also for grins, see what everyone will give us for chem. If someone is researching it, a disparity in what they will give should reveal it, and maybe even how close they are. Best case we should sell the turn before it becomes non-monopoly, if we can figure out when that is. Don't sell until we're certain someone is close, or even until after someone gets it -- but milk it for everything we can. Even then we're still up a monopoly.

For the Byzantines deal, did you try asking what they will give for WM+Lux, for example can we get WM+cash for WM+lux?
