Welcome to the new EQNES. This NES is completely original in all forms. It is not quite a story NES and not quite a board game NES. It is designed to be quick, painful, and a test of tactics for commanders. This will consist of "mini" NESes which make up the whole. The minis will be on this thread. The NES will begin in a series of battles, in this case a simplified version of the American Civil War Bull Run Campaign. The victor of each battle causes where and with what the next battle consists of.

The updates will be daily and this thread will be used to display the maps of the ongoing stats and fighting. It may sound a tad confusing but it should be worked out by the players rather quickly. These will likely be short and sweet so be braced for it. If a player quits, his side will be run as NPC until another player joins. Each battle must have a different pair of players. If you reserve a spot, i'll PM you when your turn is up.

Victory will be declared depending on the battle and how it goes. The first battle is

Blackburn's Ford

Union-
Confederate-

Waiting List

-Elaboration of Rules-

On each map there will be numbers in each nation's color. Each number corresponds to a army, corps, division, regiment, or other group. There will be a key in the battle stats section to all your troops. each force will be at different strengths and through fighting will weaken.

-Fighting-

Fighting in this NES is slightly different from my normal NESes i mod. This time i actually have a method of battle that does not merely depend on who i hate the most. Dice will be thrown with modifiers depending terrain, type of group, numbers, etc. Random event may occur, though these will be more common in larger battles like Stalingrad, though they will nto be totally gone in other battles. Events will be mostly historical.

Your orders should be given with little arrows and maps, though you dont have to it makes it easier for me. Stories be nice. Overall this is just for fun, but the system makes it fair, as much as i loathe having to use one.

I want to but I shan't take Stalingrad. :p

Will look at this. SOunds like a sweet idea.

Will look at this, sounds very cool, an idea that I've been after for a long time but didn't trust myself to mod.

When will different battles be posted? Looks like most of the coolest battles are taken...

i'll have the maps and stats posted for the taken battles within 24 hours. Please excuse the crudity of the maps, as they were made in Paint.

Cool idea.

I'll be watching.

Sorry to tell you people who've already signed up, but i've thought of a better way to run this style of NES in a conversation with Roddy, so in a few minuites i'll have edited the rules and instead of the current style it will be (hopefully) in a more interesting form which makes it easier for me to mod as well.

Kudos to Roddy for this idea of linked battles. Look at first post again. Once more sorry to those who already signed up, but this way is more interesting and should be easier to mod.
