I started work on some northern european towns. First i will make a medieval-dark age era for them. The form is not atm different from that of my balcan series, but ofcourse everything else is changed, and probably i shall alter the tower a bit as well.

The yet uncomplete towns #1 and #2

I hope that there is still need for new civ3 cities, for the game is starting to become reduced to civ2 status here (been there when the collapse of civ2 in these forums took place)

Looks cool.

I think you are correct when you talk about the decline in here. It's a natural thing, since Civ4 is comming out in a forseeable future.

I created a matching tower.
Well decline is always bad :(
I think that they shouldnt have tried so much to update the civ series, civ3 with an events editor would have been enough. It looks like they are aiming for a very different market than the people who were playing civ2 or civ1.
There must have been thousants and thousants of scens made for civ2 (2 of which are mine ;) ) and only a few probably for civ3, but with time people would be more able to create a larger number i guess.

Civ4 will be much better to make scenarios with. It will have a big bunch of new features. It will probably be harder to mod graphics, but not impossible. I don't really understand why everyone seems so turned off by Civ4. The same thing happened when Civ3 came, and in the end it proved to be much better.

I dont know, modding in 3d looks very hard to me, altough i probably shouldnt expect to learn how to make a unit in a few days.
I never managed to make a decent civ2 unit either, but at least there that wasnt due to lack of understanding of how to do it, but merely lack of ability. It is one thing to know that you are always just a few pixels away from a good result, and quite another to be hours and hours of work, involving steps you do not understand or havent even heard of, away from that good result.
If civ4 graphics are like RON then i think that it will really be hard to mod it, and everyone who will be able to would be better off working for a software company

If you get lost in the woods do not go near those huts.

Once a hunter had gone out to hunt a beast which was rumoured to run freely in the forest, however one night, during the first nights of the hunt, and although up to then he had only followed the shadow of the beast which was walking at a safe distance infront of him, he suddently stoped realising that the black beast had now stood next to him. His horror was so great that he closed his eyes, and due to his immediate resolution to stay where he now was for as long as was needed for him to recover after that shock, the outcome was that he settled down, and from a hunter now became a settlement, growing in time, always still, new huts appearing here and there :|

Hm, actually you are right Yoda, i suspect that you mean that you can also create scens without changing the graphics. And that would be a very good idea i think. I am just keen on changing the cities/resources all of the time :)

oh and you can call me Kyriakos, 'varwnos', which means 'baron', was an old nickname which i dont really like anymore & has to do with my rather gloomy childhood in a huge house

I am editing the balcan series. With all those colour tonal scales i should rather try to paint. I have died and went to a pixelated hell :shakehead

It probly wont be that hard
Lots of 3d games have the ability to mod charactors
Sims 2 and UT2004 come to mind
UT even has a program to help it would be cool if civ 4 had that like the map maker
