Britain and the North Sea

Okay, valderalv, your map's finished - actually earlier than scheduled, surprisingly! [Note to readers: valderalv is the guy who requested this map. ]

The map is 100x100, and I think I've got everything you wanted here. I've included a bit more of the Southern Denmark area than was in the example you gave me, but I've mountained all that bit so it can't be used. Britain is, as you asked for, up several hundred k's and enlarged a bit. Denmark has room for 3 cities, Norway 4 (you can adjust that yourself if you want, just mountain off the bits you don't want or grassland some areas you do want). There's one starting place on each of Denmark and Norway, two on Ireland, and four on Britain. There's room enough for approxiamately 8-12 cities per player (except for Norway and Denmark ). Resources are generally thinly placed, but you can add more if you want them. Oh, and I've also made sure that there's plenty of ocean between the British Isles and Denmark/Norway.

An excellent map, indeed. England is very well designed, but you should erase these mountains on Denmak and Norway to make it a more realistic scenario. Don't forget to review the player starting locations, also, because when I played as England I started on Ireland, and that should not be the reality! Place the Celts on Scotland, the germans on the continent, the vikings on Norway and some other tribe (perhaps the Babs) on Ireland. Of course, you can also place the French on the continent, only to increase competition!

The mountains were placed all over Denmark and Norway at the request of valderalv. But yes, it'd probably be a good idea to remove them and make a more realistic version of the map.

As for the player starts, they're extremely easy to change yourself. I don't ever set them, because I want my maps to be playable with the set starting locations with any civilization, not just a select few. I don't make my maps as history lessons (for the most part, anyway)... just as fun, playable, and accurate-looking worlds to play on.

You can always crop one (F12)

Cropping wouldn't be too good on a map as small as this one. Try searching through the threads instead though... go to each page full of topics, press "Ctrl-F" (the search feature for your browser), type in "Scotland" and press enter a few times, and see what comes up. Try that out for several different pages and find out what you get.

Cheers LP will give that a go, although I have had a good search already, may have to do the unthinkable and have an attempt myself...
