What is happening to the NESes?!

As of now, there seem to be just THREE (!!!) NESes alive, or at best five. I am becoming increasingly desperate about this. Many NESes as of late seem to die before Update 2, or just after it if they are lucky. Now, I intend to create ITNES I, and I hope that it, at least, will last, but there is only very sporadic interest.

Yes, the NESing faced some hard times before, but I don't remember ANY time at all when it was as... dead. What is this, people? WHAT IS THIS?! Who is to blame, moderators or players or everybody?

I sincerely hope that this is only a temporary crisis that will last only for the duration of the exams. But, either way, I think something must be done to save this community, and fast.

In other words, all ye players with no NESes to mod and enough free time to actually read this message, I want you to know this - it is your DUTY, your OBLIGATION to start new NESes.

(Okay, okay, maybe I'm being too radical here, but still, I am sure that there are some people with modding experience and free time here to start a new NES, and yet, they are not doing anything; Stormbringer comes to mind, especially as he promised a 1919 NES, and it still isn't here)

Opinions?

NESing community need a nes. a long good nes that will bring interest back. I put all hopes into your coming NES :)

ok, im going to be honest here. The newest generation cant mod. Ive personally been told by conehead, panda, and grandmaster that they cant mod. Well, there goes 3 good nesers. And capulet...i havnt seen him mod so I cant say. Alex says he would be too biased towards China, you know NK and Gelions problems, and it seems like noone else is willing to try.

sheep, stalin, jason, eq, all of them are graduated or almost graduated and have little time to spare to mod an nes. They were the best modders out there, and they had the nes you could usually count on to be around incase another one failed.

But your only 14 das, and Im 15. We've got some years ahead of us to save Nesing ;)

Well i wont join any nes unless it really looks appealing too me, i've been more than saturated by crappy modded nesses that die after a couple of updates.

Too bad i got exams at the end of this month or i would give it a try at modding. maybe after that i'll start that age of discovery nes i was planning, but thats in 20 days.

I'm *almost* certain my next NES will be a good one all around.

It better be...

Anyway, what's with Stormbringer? He seems to have enough time to write long stories and control an international organization at Goober's, and yet - still no 1919 NES.
The newest generation cant mod.

Most of it can't. Toteone (for example) however isn't too bad a mod, IMHO, and neither is silver2039 (maps aside).

Neses always a so few this time of year, it will explode again just after the American final exams and stuff. Be patient das, it happens every year. There are just too many neses here that wont allow nesing to go the same way here as it did in Apolyton because of their inability to recruit new players.

As for this with myself as I am doing a tour of Eastern Australia to sell the new software that my company just brought out to schools (encrypting school reports and stuff like that) I wont have stable net connections at such times and are almost dependent on net cafes for a net connection. I have little time to even nes and would rather play with the couple of hours a week I can devote to it then to mod and put up with frustruations and complaints that go with it.

Like I said this type of thing happens at least once a year and I suprised das of all people brought this up.

Yeah, sorry, I just felt rather desperate at the fact that two NESes I am in just died in a row.

Oh I don't think its that critical. Although I to am a bit sad, as all the NES I join die too early. Stormbringers NES died way to early and Jason has disappeared.
Maybe I should start my first NES! I had a long time to think about my first NES, but currently I wouldn't know what kind of NES i would like to mod, where enough players would be interested in.

You could start a poll...I asked das about this a few weeks ago. I've always liked stalin's Toukon NES idea, only maybe with Napoleonic Europe instead of WWI, which would've settled into trench warfare in the NES itself anyway.

Hmmmm, since you mentioned me I'd be glad to think up an easy one...

oh yeah, it was a boardgame

Africawars

I'll get back to y'all on it ;)

Well I could open a NES. even a fats moving one (update every two days while it's small or somthing.. I got time) but I have no idea what ruleset to use. And I don't want to write one myself cause it comes out too long and people don't join...

Anyone up for the task of finding me a ruleset?

I'm going to mod a NES this summer.

Don't ask me what it will be about, because I don't know either.

Don't you DARE let nessing die now that I'm just 32 days away from ending my army service and returning to nessing!

mmmh..... well i am closing my nes too. matter of fact, i would be leaving nesing entirely if it wasnt because i have a reputation to upheld in Das nes

I was wondering when will you post as soon as I noticed that you are on the forum...

Well, I think NESing will survive that long.

das - Come up with an Industrial Age Alternate History, and I'll try to mod it. :p
