COTM13: Second Spoiler

In order to read this thread, you must have reached the industrial ages, and must be able to see the majority of the map, including at least the location of the capital city of each civilization.

This thead is for the discussion of happenings up until the the discovery of your first industrial-age tech ONLY. There is no restriction on the posting of screenshots or minimaps as captured within that time frame.

Once you have posted your spoiler, be sure to head on over to the Hunting Tips and Hunt Continues threads and offer your wisdom to the conquest-class players.

Renata

Edit: Sorry, wrong post. I meant to post in the Hunting Tips thread :p

continued from 110BC:
finally get Engineering and trade it to egypt for Monotheism
trade both techs to Rome for Republic

around 0BC revolted and became a republic in 110AD
then I started a war against Aztecs which had some cities near our borders, captured 1 of them
Traded for a 3-fer to gain Feudalism, Theology and Chivalry

in 150AD made peace with Aztecs
demanded Arabs to leave and they declared, got Portugese in and got out of a lot of gpt deals
did not capture cities, but razed 2 of them and Portugese were hurting them

260AD traded with Byzantines, get education, traded it with Portugese for Invention
get Gunpowder from Rome for it, see that we have salt, but it is not connected yet

In 340AD finished the Forbidden palace

The war with Arabs lasted longer and was a great success, razing and taking towns. Essentially expanding our empire to
23 cities. In 420AD used a musketeer on offense to beat a 1hp spear and entered GA.
Bought banking for gpt deal from Aztecs
Made peace with Arabs, which were down to 2 cities to gain Chemistry and Astronomy in exchange for banking

Used the GA for infra push building courthouses etc.
Arabs were down to 1 city, so I bought Metallurgy for gpt deal. Arabs were eliminated in 490AD by Portugese
Purchase physics from Aztecs and then exchange for Military Tradition with Portugese

After 500AD the Portugese sent a lot of their units through our territory and I get scared that they attack us. However, Aztecs and Portugese
declare on each other and both have units in our land. I demand that Aztecs leave, they declare war and we get a lot of gpt payments back.
Get Theory of Gravity from Rome and exchange it Magnetism with Portugese and I enter the IA around 600AD

Stats:
Score at 600AD: 1211
Culture 1730
Cities: 25

cotmrat600.jpg

I used the tactics to trade gpt deal and got out of them fairly quickly since the AI's wanted to fight every time I asked them to leave
I did build up quite some military so I never got any demands in the MA from AI's.

Behind on tech, but not much. I spent a nice Golden Age with research turned off and building units to expand. Arabia is down to 4 cities, but they are stilll powerful. Portugal declared on the Aztecs and sent over 80 units south through France. When they made peace, I blocked the units from returning. I'm not crowding the border, but there is a line that they can't cross. I'm not sure if thats a good idea or not. I'm holding onto some cash to continue some upgrading. Obsolete units are slowing being replaced.

Ancient Age

The Ancient Age saw my French expanding furiously and trying their hardest to keep up with a lightning fast tech pace. We entered the Middle Ages in 1075bc and the AI kept it up. I wasn't quite as successful in keeping up and fell behind a few techs. I had to switch gears from my AA strategy of buying and trading techs to researching the now cheaper techs (as most of the AI had researched them) and trading them to the few stragglers. It worked nicely as I worked my way along the bottom branch while the stragglers researched the top branch. I completely ignored the optional techs and focused on getting to the IA as fast as I could while building infrastructure.

By the end of the MA I had just about caught up in tech and was the third civ into the IA at 450ad. There wasn't much else happening. I built almost no military and had numerous demands, but since I had little gold and was behind in tech the demands were of the 25g and territory map variety and I had no problem paying up.

Techs:

610bc - The Republic
610bc - Engineering from Rome for Republic, 8gpt
330bc - Monotheism
330bc - Feudalism from Rome for Monotheism, 43gpt
330bc - Literature from Byzantines for Monotheism
190bc - Theology from Arabia for furs, 62gpt, 85g
190bc - Chivalry from Incas for Theology
190bc - Invention from Rome for Theology, Chivalry
170bc - Gunpowder from Byzantines for Theology, Chivalry
210ad - Chemistry
210ad - Education from Byzantines for Education
310ad - Metallurgy
310ad - Astronomy from Incas for Metallurgy
390ad - Physics
390ad - Banking, 12gpt from Byzantines for Physics
450ad - Magnetism
450ad - Theory of Gravity from Egypt for Magnetism, 34gpt

Open Class

I reached the Middle ages around 600 BC, about par on tech. I decided to declare on the Incas to take their city in the west by my borders. Almost everynation on the other continent had put a city at the western part of my continent. Soon after I took the city with my horsemen, things turned for the worse. As the Aztecs were signed in against me, the most powerful nation. I made peace with the Incas, then the Aztecs signed the Egyptians against me, and the following turn, the Arabs. I had a 2 front war. My iron still wasn't hooked up yet, so I was fighting with Horsemen and spears, and I still haven't got a single Middleages tech, while the Aztecs were running away with the tech led. I forget the exact date around the end of BCs/ beginning of ADs, the Aztecs got navigation. Back to the war, the Arabs came with Ansars and pikes, I was holding them at Orleans at the Northern Wheat, and Lyons to the east of Lyons. When my defenses were about to crumble, I was able to make peace with them. I had made peace with the Aztecs a few turns earlier, but by this time the Byzantines, joined the pile on me. I took 2 of their cities and made peace.

Battered from war, and only possessing Feudalism, Enginneering, and Invention, I was falling even further behind. The other continent had been in war almost the whole Middle ages, with the egyptians getting killed by the Incas, and Rome razing Incan cities, then finally the aztecs attacked the Incas, capturing about half the former egyptian cities. The Aztecs controled about half the continent, the Incas, most of the northern half. The Aztecs went industrial in the 400s, followed by the other nations. So I began a wild race to research to catch up, and in 900 AD I went Industrial. With my army of spearmen, soon to be facing Arabia.

The forbidden palace is completed in 10 AD.

I will never meet Egypt as the Aztecs destroyed them in 50AD.

I get Portugal to declare in 230 AD. They have this very annoying city behind my lines. I pull of the standard trick of getting a lot of techs for free. I gained Literature, Monotheism, Invention and $196. I sign Arabia in for $27/turn. This is a great chance to get the two major powers on my continent to fight. The Arabs bail out really quickly on me in 350 AD, but I sign them right back up. I want to concentrate on the south due to the opportunities from the other war. The Arabs bail again in 540 AD. This time I end the war.

I get into a war with Rome in 290AD thanks to Portugal. While this war lasted it was mostly phony.

I get into a war with the Byzantines in 340 AD thanks to Portugal.

This is starting to get tiresome. In 390 AD the headaches continue when the Aztecs declare war due to an alliance with Rome. With all the nonsense going on I ally with the Inca vs. the Byzantines. I am hoping this will create even more trouble on the other continent. I end this war in 530 AD when I can trade Chemistry for Chivalry and a good world map.

My third attempt for a GA succeeds in 460 AD. Trying to get a GA from a defensive unit is always rough. I get my first army in 530AD.

When I establish an embassy with the Inca in 260AD it is clear who the #1 threat in the game is. Cuzco has 29 shields at size 11. They have already completed six wonders. It is very clear that time is *NOT* on my side. I think I just found one of the sadistic twists to the game.

What I am dying to know is what resource is "hidden" by Cherbourg. Almost every AI landing was at that city. This is the same area where I razed that Portuguese city behind my lines.

The Aztecs were destroyed in 780AD. I am not happy with that, as they were least advanced civilization. I got several MA techs from them in trades.

The Middle Ages ended for me in 950 AD. I enter the Industrial Ages in a decent tech hole as I have already seen the Universal Suffrage pop-up for several civs.

C3C 1.22, open, entering IA

I have started the game with the intention to go for 100k cultural victory. The start was slow because of long expansion phase and so at the end of AA it seemed that there is no chance to get this type of victory in Deity. AI is really fast in everything.
As Klarius advised, there was the only thing I could do – to get more cities.
How to get more cities?
1) Build military units and start the conquest.
2) Found more cities in all gaps that are available and concentrate purely on culture.

Because I had almost no military units, I have decided to go peacefully.
After entering MA I have built another bunch of settlers and continuously founded a lot of cities in a kind of ICS placement. In all cities I have started to build buildings in the order Library-Temple-University-Cathedral-Colloseum. I was behind in tech a lot, but I needed Education. I was not able to buy that, so I researched it 100% (or almost). Any tech could be researched in 4 turns, but the disadvantage was, I could not rush any of the buildings. So usually I changed the research speed to be able to rush some culture, where possible.
A long time ago I have started the Palace prebuild in Rheims, but I was not able to exchange it for any wonder. Every MA wonders were already finished. So I hurried the research to reach IA to get at least some of the IA wonders to do not throw all of these shields away.
My trading ability is not very good I would say. I was not able to get a lot from the luxuries and resources I have. The maximum I have got was 31gpt for Incense. I had no techs to sell, so I was not able to get anything there.
For the whole MA period, I had peace with everybody and even when I have majority of my cities unoccupied, nobody started the war with me. Egyptians were the first to be kicked off (by Romans). I have built some Musketeers, but I do not expect to go for war and so I do not expect to have the Golden Age this time.

My “cultural attack” had no influence for my neighbors so far – no one wanted to flip to France. Even with the number of towns I have (~60), I am not able to beat AI in culture, or at least it seems that I can beat them at the level of 200k probably.
The goal for IA is to get Steam Power (for Railroads) and Industrialization (for IA wonder) and then to stop the research and rush the culture over all the empire.

The cultural status:
France 22156, 560 per turn
Portugal 20089, 265 per turn
To win I would need roughly 800-900 culture per turn. I am not sure I can make it.

Question:
Were you, others, able to beat AI in tech and to get a treasure from trading with them? Can this strategy be better for getting money than no research and 100% tax?

Entered the MA in a lightning fast 10BC. Of course, all the AI's were already there. Once again, I decided to gain land one and two cities at a time by fighting little skirmishes against the far away civs. At this point I thought the two continents were connected to the south.

By 320AD I finally knew all civs and finally a Republic. Incas were last to drop a settler near me. At this point I had grabbed Avaris from Egypt, Amorium from the Byzantines, Dyrrachium from Rome, and I was still at war with Egypt. I knew only Mono, Fued, and Eng. 20 cities (1st) land (2nd)

In 540AD, Avignon (my city with iron) flipped to the Arabs so I was going to have to get it back. I had just got my first army from a little fight with the Egyptians, so I filled it with Med Inf and figured I was ready. I now know up to Chem. I had taken Badajoz from Port in a quick little fight. Egypt had brought the Incas and Romans to war with me.

I make peace with Egypt and declare war on Arabs. I pull Portugal and the Aztecs into the fight. Port to occupy so of the Arab troops, and Aztecs so they don't attack me from the south (still think the lands are connected (no world map!)).

My army died so fast it didn't know what hit it. It attacked 2 longbowmen and was promptly killed by calvary! I managed to secure 2 Arab cities and regained my iron city in a couple of turns. At this point, I know MT, so I do min research on Theology. Arabs and I just keep trading calvary with no one getting an edge. I did get my GA at a great time to mass produce calvary. What a well-timed UU! The best part is WWI has just begun. This should slow down the tech pace tremendously. Every civ is at war with at least one civ.

By 750AD I realize I am not getting any more cities from the Arabs so I make peace before I waste too many units. Before doing so I get a ROP with Port. I get a ROP with Arabs in the peace deal and then start moving my calvary up to Lisbon, where the Great Library sits!! I just realized it was on my continent so I figured I had to get it to catch up in techs.

In 870AD, I ROP rape Port. I have 27 calvary (mostly vet) attacking 6 infantry on a size 12 city. What a great RNG!!! I only lost 4 units and 8 calvary never fought before taking the city. There was a puny counterattack b/c of Port's war with Arabia and I entered the IA in 880AD with 28 cities.

well, again there goes your rep, hope you are strong enough to fight all of them doing espionage and paying through your nose.

One question, in a COTM all exploits seem to be allowed. I read ROP rape, demand cities for peace and then declare again within 20 etc. Since I am not interested to gain a medal of honour through exploits, I played the game according to our SG rules. Seems to feel better that way.

But, anything goes here in COTM, am I right?

ThERat said:
But, anything goes here in COTM, am I right?

Anything Doesn't go. Below are the allowed and disallowed exploits. ROP rape isn't completely an exploit b/c the AI does it too. Not well of course, but what does it do well?

ALLOWED

Right of Passage abuse
Make an agreement of Right of Passage, move your units to their main cities and attack them all at once.

Free palace jump
When disbanding your capitol your palace will appear in the biggest other city. Your former capitol can be rebuilt by the settler it created. This way you've moved you capitol free.

Island block
If you fill the coast of a certain island with units, even non-military, the AI won't be able to land, thus isn't able to conquer that island, until it has marines.

Ship hopping
While at sea, you can unload a ship on the same square where there is another ship and that ship can take over the load. This way you can move your units to any location in one turn. But it takes a lot of effort.

ICS (Infinite City Sprawl)
Build a lot of cities very close next to each other. This way you simply have more cities which are in the beginning just as big as normal.

RCP (Ring City Placement)
Build several cities at equal distance from the Palace and they all have the same Rank for corruption calculations. So you can have N1 cities at Rank 1, then N2 cities at Rank N1+1 etc. This has been eliminated in Conquests, and cities at equal distance get increasing Ranks according to dates of founding.

DISALLOWED

Scout resource denial
Place a scout on a square where there is a resource and in (future) enemy territory. As long as you have peace with them you can leave him there undisturbed and the other will never be able to build a road to it.

Pop-rushing
In despotism and communism it is possible to use cities purely for unit rush building. Workers can be added to such a city and then the city can then use them to rush build units. This is disallowed, so do not create these kind of cities. Pop rushing one or two regular citizens to finish a building or to build a unit is within the rules and the spirit of the game. What is against the rules is joining workers to cities for the purpose of pop rushing.

Worker dogpile
Let all your workers join a city with a hospital and continue to build workers and let them join that city. There's no size limit so your city will become huge and you loose only one population per turn. All the workers become specialists and add to your score.

Gold mine
You can make cities give wealth and production at the same time. First set the cities to produce wealth. At the beginning of the next turn when another city is done building something else you can go to other cities with the arrows above and change the production of the cities that produce wealth to e.g. some unit. That will get production as well.

Rank Corruption Exploit
It is possible to move your Palace far away from the main core of your civilization, leaving your Forbidden Palace near its center. The result is that the rank component of the corruption calculation for cities nearer to the Forbidden Palace than to the Palace reduces to rank 1. The Conquests version of CivIII has been modified to eliminate this exploit. This thread discussed the ruling, which states that "You must not rebuild the palace in a location remote from the majority of your empire in order to gain a significant corruption advantage".

Black Hole of Calcutta (my name)
A city can be expanded to very high levels of population during disorder. After order is restored it then starves back to the level its food supply will support, but meanwhile it can produce lots of shields. Discussed here at Apolyton.

Deficit Spending
Should you have negative income to the point where your treasury goes negative, each turn that you are negative you will have only a single unit or improvement sold-off. It is therefore possible to run at huge deficits, and still only lose one item per turn. This is not allowed, and you must make every effort to maintain a viable economy.

thanks for the clarification, I still think i will just stick to the somewhat stricter standard SG rules. Besides on higher levels a broken reputation hurts.

Open - IA in 940 AD

My middle ages went smoothly - the difficulty never felt like more than emperor. I used ThERat's brilliant strategy he posted in his AA spoiler of signing a MA with Arabia vs. Portugal. Their units suicided against each other and I only had to deal with a few landing ships on my west coast.

After 20 turns or so I assumed they were weakend so I went to war with Arabia, signing a MA with Portugal against them. :crazyeye: Entering the IA now, Portugal is down to three cities. They will give me both of their cities (not the capital, of course) for peace, but not a IA tech...greedy.

Annoyingly, Egypt and Aztecs have a MPP. As soon as it runs out, I will side with Egypt and get them fighting each other for the rest of the game. I'll try to slug out a domination win with Artillary/Infantry/Cavalry combo.

I've had good luck getting leaders - 5 so far. 3 Armies, Military Academy, and Pentagon. I only got 3 total in the Japan game so I was due. :D
MP_cotm13_04.gif

my game was running smoothly until Arabia, Aztecs, Rome, Inca, Egypt and Portugal started to sign MA's against me. Their cavs attacked my spears and muskets taking 4-5 cities per turn. Conquered in the Middle ages at 1240 AD

Having entered the MA in 50 BC as Republican with iron, I felt it was time to improve my cities and get some knights ready asap.
The right moment of time came in 570 AD, as I made Abu declare on me. I get a MPP with Henry, so I feel pretty safe. The main goals for this campaign are the capturing of the arab enclaves on my shores and by the incense and to get as deep into arab territory as possible. While the first part already takes a lot of effort (and RNG-luck: 3 knights knocking out 2 rifles in his city ?!), grabbing Abu´s land does hardly work at all. So in 77o AD I decide I´ll wait for Cavalry, maybe even Artillery.
I´m quite well doing my own research, I think I´m catching up slowly. This feels much better than buying everything from the AI the way I did in GOTM 43!
In 920 AD I declare on Abu, this time using cavalry - and get my GA promptly in 940 AD. Helps a lot in mass building cavalry. In 1030 AD I need to make peace again. There´s no use in sending my cav against infantry in cities while I don´t have arty...
Reach IA in 1110 AD with 39 Cav and half a dozen Muskets.

Ancient Age

150 BC - 510 AD

The most important event to start the MA was Portugal's rear penetration of the Arabs, who are left with 8 cities, 5 of which are to my SW (including 1 culture nabbed from me) and all detached from Baghdad. I'm not quite ready to pounce when Inca randomly demand Furs and I refuse. I capture their lone city on my continent (Brest lies on its remnants) and no other shots are fired. In the meantime, I build up MI's and prepare for Arabia.

Portugal is #1 overall, with Inca close behind and I'm a clear but distant 3rd and about 6 techs behind in Monarchy. For only my second deity game ever, I'm happy.

Arabian War

In 510 AD, the Aztecs ask me to join them against the Arabs, and I get a slave and 27g for doing so. I divide my forces, sending 8 MI, 3 Swd's and 2 Archers NE to get 2 cities while 14 MI and 5 Swd's head SW for the other 5 cities. Most of the SW cities are on hills, but no problem - I cut through the spears with minimal losses, and mop up the remains with knights as they are produced. I capture 7 cities and peace in 660 AD earns me Theology and Invention. Baghdad is tucked behind Portugeuse territory.

In the meanwhile, Byzantine declares war on me and never fires a shot. Inca and Portugal are busy dividing up Egypt. Lacking trading partners, I give Egypt Iron, Furs and Incense for Spices and 7gpt. I spend the next few centuries building up knights and trying to catch up in the tech race. I found Rennes by the Saltpeter in the mountains straight E from Baghdad after Portugal connected a colony to it. Wait, did that colony become a fortress when it jumped into their territory? :D My fortress now...

In 1050 AD, Egypt finally falls to Inca. I receive from Inca Dyes + 20gpt for Furs.

Aztec War

Aztecs demand my Saltpeter in 1080 AD and we go to war. Inca would like my Saltpeter, but I can't buy them into the war. The next turn, an Aztec cavalry loses to my Musketeer in Shiraz and GA begins! As a result, I'm only 5 turns away from Mil. Trad. The rest plays out like this:

1140 AD: Learned Mil. Trad. Upgrade 28 Knights to Cavalry. Not playing defense with Aztecs anymore.
1160 AD: Teayo and Septum captured.
1170 AD: Cempoala captured.

1190 AD: Chalco captured. Inca and Portugal go to war! (fight nice, kids!) Inca has taken the lead, but I like them keeping Portugal occupied. Trade Saltpeter to Inca for 60gpt!

1200 AD: Tula captured.
1220 AD: Sardica captured.
1230 AD: Tamuin captured.
1240 AD: Malinalco captured, removing Aztecs from my continent.
1250 AD: Poor Arabs declare on Portugal.
1260 AD: Portugal does their imitation of Operation Desert Storm. Arabs gone.
1265 AD: Peace with Aztecs - they haven't outlived their usefulness yet. Get Printing Press and Econ. in the deal.

The next turn my GA ends, but I finish ToG the following turn to reach IA. I'm still behind Portugal and Inca by at least 4 techs, but now I'm a factor.

Stats going into Industrial Age (1275 AD):

Cities: 35
Citizens: 249
Workers: 36 (21 slaves)
Cavalry: 44
Med. Inf.: 23
Musketeer: 17
41 other units (mostly spears/pikes) not upgraded and serving as MP.
20% of World Area
23% of World Population

Inca already at 46609 culture though. :(

COTM13_1275%20AD.jpg

I started the MA by trying to get a monopoly over a civ or two by going over the top of the tree. I researched monotheism in 7 or so turns, and then went for theology. To my great joy, I realized that the Romans didn't have it! I didn't know that I would get this one before them, but I figured that at some point I could overtake them.

I couldn't.

I chased the AI's all over the upper part of the tech tree, always just a few turns behind the last one to get it. I didn't think I was that far behind, as the demographics showed me very close to, or even first in, income compared to the AIs, but my first sight of Arab cavalry in 440 AD showed me otherwise. The chase culminated at navigation, where I had 1 turn left and the Romans didn't have it. In the interturn my MapStat popped up, showing me that the Romans got it the exact same turn as I did. Admitting defeat, I went back to the beginning of the MA tree, researching through the rest of the MA (and buying a couple) at a 4 turn pace. In the early 700s the Inca were destroyed, and I was shocked to find in 770 AD that my rep was fried. I don't quite know what happened; I must've had a deal with the Inca or something.

I went into the IA around 800 AD, and found, much to my surprise, that the AI's had no IA techs but Nationalism! Portugal has been in the IA for about 190 years, and the only have one tech! I'm cautiously optomistic, but the shot rep and tech sharing of the AI's will probably keep me from winning. Also, I should note that my military consists of about 1 Musketeer per city, a few cannon, and some horsemen, so if anyone attacks I'm done.

Plan: get some techs to sell for gpt so I can increase my military and raise my research rate. I probably can't buy any more techs (I only have about 1000 gold, and that figure isn't going to go up much), so money can be used for rushing/deficit research.

Link to AA spoiler

I entered the Middle Ages in 670BC. Early on I decide to start a library campaign. I elected to go this route after I saw Arabia had Ansar Warriors. I’ll need to delay my war efforts until later in the game. I quickly make and renew ROPs with both Arabia and Portugal to lessen their chance of attacking me.

I’m only up to 15 cities, but they all have libraries. I have also built 7 universities. I was beaten to Copernicus’ by only a few turns but I quickly traded for another Wonder tech so that I could save my shields. Banking turned out to be my first monopoly tech and netted me several techs. Egypt completed Bach’s the turn before I was to learn TOG, so I was able to use The Big Picture to change my build from Bach’s to Newton’s at the beginning of the next turn. This allowed me to quickly sell TOG for 181gpt.

I achieved tech parity for the first time in 350AD and hit the Industrial Age in 420AD. I’ll probably shot for either a Diplo or Space victory, but Space will hinge on whether I can hit the critical 4-turn research rate for the Modern Age. Because I have gone peaceful route so far I have not had my Golden Age yet. At this point I'll push forward to tanks before starting any wars. I'll need more cities and land if I want to try for space.

Here’s a look at my Middle Age tech pace:
Feudalism - 430BC researched
Mono - 270BC researched

Theology - 130BC researched
Engineering - 130BC trade ROM

Education - 10BC researched
Invention - 10BC trade ROM

Astronomy - 150AD researched
Gunpowder - 150AD trade ROM
Chivalry - 150AD trade INCA

Banking - 270AD researched
Navigation - 270AD trade AZT
Music Theory - 270AD trade AZT
Chemistry - 270AD trade ROM
Metallurgy - 270AD trade EGY
Monarch & Wmap - 270AD trade INCA

Physics - 350AD researched
Economics - 350AD trade ARB
Printing Press - 350AD trade PORT
Military Tradition - 350AD trade EGY

Theory of Gravity - 420AD researched
Magnetism - 420AD trade AZT

Here’s a look at my cities. I built a bunch of barracks when I was thinking of doing some fighting early in the Middle Age, but otherwise all my builds have been science or commerce related.

360AD Captured ToA back.

930AD Inca and Aztecs signed a peace.

940AD Captured the Statue of Zeus and Smith's trading company.

970AD Bought alliance with Inca. (not sure it was a good idea as it will make Inca only stronger)

1000AD Inca declared war on us (what a nasty surprise  ) Aztecs and Rome signed a peace. Roman declared war on us. Here I am on Deity fighting with all existing AI civs. This is insane. Peace with Inca.

1040AD Peace with Rome.

1070AD I lost all my cities outside of our continent.

1080AD Inca agreed to sign a peace, but I had to pay them.
Started build musketeers (I need better defense) and filing gaps between Inca cities on their continents.

1130AD Inca destroyed Aztecs. It is now between France and Inca. Rome does not count, they live on a single tile island and currently are undestroyable.

1220AD Inca and Rome signed a peace.

1335AD Inca have infantry.

1360AD Inca declared a war.

It was a dream of an idiot to conquer Inca with Cavalry, I captured just one city with Sistine Chapel in it and razed.
Started producing libraries instead of cavalry and turned all tax collectors into scientists. Research Democracy. Lux rate at 100%.

1380AD Inca controls their continent. Democracy. Revolt with 9 trns of anarchy.

1400AD Physics. Peace with Inca. While trading luxes to Inca, they suggested one lux plus 44gpt. When I decided to ask for more, I misclicked and gave three luxes for one without any gpt :wallbash:

1420AD Become Democratic and researched Magnetism. Intensive usage of scientists resulted in Inca having higher population than France

1440AD Rome demanded iron, they must be nuts and declared a war. Researched Theory of Gravity and entered IA. Below is how my world look likes. This exactly what I am afraid in deity games. One big single AI.

Future plans: Research. Then we will see whether it is plausible to try to invade Inca again or it is better to search other ways to finish this game before 2050AD. So much time lost in wars on another contienent :wallbash:
