Blut und Ehre II : Empires
THE CONCEPT OF PRESTIGE:
This is a new concept in nesing, but is similar to some of the oldest and least used ones. Prestige in the days of imperialism (1836-1920) was in some ways a code of honor between nations to follow and aggree to the treaties and aggrements it signed. This Nesing generation has completely lost the meaning of the word treaty, so this will be weird for some of you. Treaties will be specially followed by me, the mod and measured by "prestige points". If your nation has lower prestige because it broke several peace treaties, it means that your people are more likely to rebel, join other nations as spys or collaborate with them. in other words, a bunch of bad stuff.
The main way of gaining prestige is by colonial expansion. But random events will also bring some prestige to your nation.
THE CONCEPT OF DIPLOMATIC ACTIONS:
If i am to keep an eye on alliences, trade aggrements and treaties, i can only allow each nation to do ONLY ONE dipomatic action per turn (year). This means that you can do whatever diplomacy you want, but can only sign ONE treaty. -By treaty i mean:
A Trade Treaty
An Advanced Trade Treaty
Trade Embargo
Allience
Peace Treaty
Guarantee Independence
Right of Passage.
-Once again, you can only accept and request one treaty per turn. For example, france asks england for an allience. and in the same turn england asks russia for a ROP. England has reached its limit of Diplomatic actions it can do that turn.
IMPERIALISM
Colonial Expansion.
In this nes, nations have the option to expand the glory of its people by claiming colonies and expanding all over the world!. Expansion by colonial imperialism is the main way to increase your national prestige.
The cost of claiming one colony is just one spending point.
To Claim one piece of land (white territories), the territory has to be by the sea, or bordering your borders (of border of an already claimed colony). NOTE- you cant grab the sea colony and a colony bordering inland during the same turn.
If two or more nations try to claim the same territory that turn, its up to me to decide who gets it.
ECONOMY
This Nes will run in a similar way as the ones by Das. Each turn you have a set number of spending points that can be used for everything from claiming colonies to raising armies and fleets. HOWEVER, there is only one way of increasing your economy, and that is by trade. Every time you stablish trade with another nation, the number of spending points increase.
Economy is measured on Levels marked by roman numbers, so a level I will get you one spending point per turn; while a VII will get you seven spending points, and so on.
Trade Treaty:
This is a diplomatic arrangement that means that you will import and export goods and services with another nation. A Trade Treaty increase your Economy level by 1.
Notice that you can only have one trade treaty per nation.
Advanced Trade Treaty:
This aggrement is a further development of an already existing trade treaty. This brings an additional 2 economy levels for a total of 3 economy levels of income from a nation.
REQUIREMENTS: A Trade Treaty that has lasted at least 5 years without interruption.
Trade Embargo:
If war is not an option, you can protest a war by an embargo. This will cancel any kind of trade treaty between your nation and your oponents nation. This can be a powerful tool if you can get many nations to cancel trade and bring that aggresive nation to a complete halt.
The problem however is that trade treaties has to be rebuilt from scratch afterwards, meaning that a lost advanced trade treaty has to wait a while to begin again.
NOTE: all of those count as a diplomatic action!.
DIPLOMACY
Allience:
Nations can only be part of one allience. When an ally goes to war, you get the option of joining him or not.
Backing down will mean that your nation drops out of the allience and you lose 25 prestige.
Peace Treaty:
This treaty ends a war, both nations cannot declare war on each other again until after 5 years. Breaking a Peace Treaty lowers prestige by 200 prestige.
Gurantee Independence:
This treaty is an official promise to protect a nation and declaring war upon any nation invading it. This is the best way to tell any nation that invasion of a friend will mean war. Not acting on your promise will lower prestige for 125 prestige. This treaty lasts 5 years
Right of Passage:
This Allows your forces to pass through friendly territory. Declaring war on a nation that is providing you a ROP will lower prestige by 300 prestige. ROP last 5 years
MILITARY:
Army:
Military units will be counted as divisions, each division has everything it needs to wage war, infantry, engeeniers, supply unites, etc etc. The price of 5 divisions is one spending point.
As of gameplay goes, all nations have the same level of training for its troops. Well drilled concripts and volunteers. (Even china and ottomans, not unrealistic since china's army starts out small too as its the newly modernised divisions.)
Navy:
Naval units will be counted as squadrons, each squadron has everything it needs to wage war at sea. Which is a group of ships that can be used from clearing mines to bombardment to landings.
The Price of 5 squadrons is one spending point.
SATELLITE STATES:
You can create satellite states from your own land. This means that the country has more independence but not entirely. They have an actual army and economy.
Satellite states maintain the same color as the "mother" country, but borders and a white capital appear.
Satellites are not for you to control completly. They are in charge of their own army and economic decisions.
Tunisia is a Satellite state (game example) She has its own arny and small economy.
CAN DO- You have an active Allience & ROP on your satellites.
CANT DO- Satellites cant have any kind of diplomatic agreement w/ other nations (even trade)
Satellites only have a basic income and even the mother nation cant "trade" as it would do normally with other nations.
To Form a satellite state you must have:
A population willing to do it (mainly other large ethnic, religious or nationalities on your borders).
And the willingness of giving up one economic level (to represent infrastructure no longer under your control)
Sometimes.... You get an option to build satellites w/out having to pay. This is only in specific events.
Satellite states are a good option when nationalism is too much of a problem.
MILITARY TRAINING!
Training An army:
Veterans-
Requirements-
5 existing infantry divisions on your army & one spending points.
(so, in other words take some your already existing units and spend money on training. From now on, units may gain veteran status randomly at war)
Elite-
5 existing Veteran divisions on your army & two spenidng points.
(this takes already veteran divisions, and increase training, equipment, payment etc. Elite units wont appear randomly, they need the extra pay and special givings to have their morale so high.
(is expensive i know, but i dont want nations having half of their armies made up of elites!. keeps realism
PRICES AND COSTS:
1 spending point = 1 colony
1 spending point = 5 Army Divisions
1 spending point = 5 Navy Squadrons
5 Existing Army Divisions + 1 spending point = 5 Veteran Army Divisions
5 Existing Army divisions + 2 spending points = 5 Elite Army Divisions
