Guys,

I'm a very active Civ II player (been playin' for 8 years now) and thought I knew everything there was to know about how to play the game. Today, I saw something very strange in the City Window that I had NEVER seen in all the time I play this game. So I moseyed on over here to make my first post in Civfanatics :wavey: so I could hopefully find the answer.

In the Resource Map section of the City Window, there was a number, "2", on the lower left corner, just beyond the city limits of the city in question. I looked at the windows of the other cities and didn't find any such thing.

Do you care to share with us your tips on what this means? ;)

Thanks!

I'll have a stab. Was it near a river mouth by any chance? In the terrain2 graphics file river mouths are numbered (see attachment). The colour used (cyan) is not one of Civ2's transparent colours and can be seen in the game if not covered by another tile.

Here you go. The first pic is the resource map in the city window. The second pic is the map view, showing Welgevind, the city in question. It's the only city in the entire tribe that shows this unusual number. You'll see "2" in the lower left corner of the resource map in the resource map picture.
