Welcome to The Augean Stables, which will be the third gem in our Fanatikos crown. This will be the official government thread. Any questions, comments, or concerns regarding The Augean Stables should be posted here. I'll also need a Lt. Governor, so if you're interested simply post or PM me...oh, and one last thing: be careful where you step, everything you read here will be full of crap. ;)

This post will have all the brown, mushy...i mean juicy information concerning The Augean Stables. I'll post a screenie of the City after every TC and will post any other info. i find related to keeping the city up and running.

If you're use of "Augean" is meant to be like the sea next to Greece, then your city should read The Aegean Stables, as Aegean is the correct spelling.

If not, I'll shut up. :)

Governor greekguy,

I notice in your instructions for tonight's turnchat that you say to irrigate the grassland S of the city. Unfortunately this will be a waste of our Worker's valuable time, as in our present government (Depotism) we will not see any increase in the food produced. Please consider mining the grassland instead, as we will get the extra production. To keep the city growth up we would need to irrigate some plains (next to the river for extra commerce) rather than spending the time mining a mountain. The mined mountain will also lose some benefit of the mining in our current government and will give the same production as the forest or a mined plain. You also make no mention of building roads on the tiles before the Worker leaves them, building roads will help increase our commerce and it will waste time if our Worker has to go back to a tile to road it later.

i know we don't get a bonus for irrigation, but i find it's easier to irrigate 1 or 2 grasslands by a city in despotism so i don't have to go replace mines with irr. later on.

thanks about the roads though, i totally forgot them.

Well, guess what's underneath the Augean Stables?

HORSES!!! Nice placement! :)

Hahahahaha, too good to be true. That is what I call a "stable" foundation for our military.

Good pun. ;) The irony of it all!

trust me, i'll have lots of fun with this.

So you'd sacrafice your city's well being and production for pure laziness? Wish I'd known that before I cast my vote...

@Provo: Groooooooan!

but my way saves worker turns in the future.

We won't have a future when the hoplite that could have been produced to save your city from the French is delayed one turn because of lack of shields.

You're wasting worker turns now. Just spend the two extra and get your city increased production. In addition, what if you actually wanted that square to be mined once we're in a new government? You are wasting shields and food, something I'd give up a few worker turns to save.

With our limited number of cities, our workers will soon run out of useful items to improve. You can easily irrigate then.

Again, I can't believe laziness would prevail here.

it's not laziness. it's just me showing i'm not the type with a utility who studies a game meticulously . this was an error in judgement, not "laziness". i'm going to change the instructions in a minute.

Thank you governor. I am not the type to constantly use a utility either, so I'm not sure what you mean there. :hmm:

Know that your citizens rejoice at the thought of not wasting food.

the utility comment was not at you. it was more frustration then anything. 2 people have told me not to irrigate, and your agruments make sense. thanks for the input. :)

since i did this now, will you move to the City of The Augean Stables? if you don't you can't suggest landmarks and you can't take place in any of the rpging games. :)
