GOOD TO GO

THIS THREAD IS FOR OFFICIALS ONLY

Edit: An official notice. I intend on playing this game until we either reach Writing or get the settler needed for our forth city. So, please elongate your instructions to account for 20something turns. That includes workers, as you really don't want me to have free reign over those.

SaaM

Time hack post.

When I posted this, in Arizona time (GMT-7) it showed 12:57 as the time of the post.

If you see 12:57, the chat is at 11am
you see 1:57 PM, the chat is at noon
you see 2:57, the chat is at 1pm
you see 3:57, the chat is at 2pm (EDT)
you see 7:57 PM (19:57) the chat is at 6PM (1800 GMT)

Or take your known time differential from GMT and add or subtract as needed.

This message brought to you by the city of Olympus, home of FanatikTime Inc.

At this stage it looks like none will strongly win, therefore I'm clarifying my leader's instructions to say

If we complete writing, commence researching Philosophy, and stop the turnchat, as citizenry has indicated that we would like to trade immediately once we have writing.

Do not complete any trades.

Fanatikos State Department

1. Keep the Peace.
2. Do not cross any other nations borders.
3. If more nations are meet it is up to the DP if they think the chat needs to be stoped.
4. If war is declared apon us, halt the chat unless the military has contingency planes.

Quote:
Border Control Policy:
If any nation cross our borders, ask them to leave. Under no circumstances demand they withdraw. If the DP thinks that the forces are a invasion force (mass border crossings without settlers) then halt the chat, unless the Military has contingency plans.

Quote:
Tribute Policy:
Give in to any demands.

Build City #3 on the pink dot in the screenshot in this post.

Build Queue:
Hoplite
Worker
Barracks

Worker Instructions: (if any are alloted to me)
lay down a straight road from Olympus North to Augean Stables
if there is more time after the road is built, start mining the hill SW of the city.

Civantonia instructions:

Warrior (1)
Worker (5)
Barracks (~20)
Hoplite (less than 10)
Temple (less than 30)

Worker Tasks - (note - timing may be off by a turn or two)

I'm assuming that the current worker has nothing to do since the capital (which will riot if nothing is done!) is being used as a brief settler factory.

Turn 1 - Worker finishes road. Send the worker to the tile 1W of Civantonia.

Turn 2 - Have the worker mine the tile (6 turns). Civantonia starts on a worker (5 turns)

Turn 7 - Civantonia worker finishes. Name it "Civfantonia Worker Group #1". (Short name will be CWG1). Have CWG1 move 1 tile E to the bonus grassland.

Turn 8 - Capital worker finishes. Build a road. (3 turns)

Turn 11 - Capital worker finishes. Move to the tile 1S of Civantonia.

Turn 12 - Capital worker starts to mine.

Turn 13 - CWG1 finishes the mine. Move the worker to the tile 1S of Civantonia. (2 turns)

Turn 15 - Have CWG1 assist in the mining.

An alternative is to have the capital worker connect/work our new cities after mining/roading the tile 1W of the city.

Remember to micromanage the city to make sure the mined tiles are being used after growth/a mine is completed.

A timeline...

Turn 1 - Warrior built.
Turn 6 - Worker built.
Turn 14 - (if tile is mined) Barracks built.
Turn 18 - (if both tiles are mined) Hoplite built.
Turn 20 - Town is size 3.
Turn 23-24 - Temple Built.

have the warriors continue exploration, send the one who is all the way east, please name him Apollo, send him north, let athena continue her current route, which is currently east i think, if we hit foreign land, i don't think we should explore it now but that might be the FA's decision but if it is my, SaaM you make the decision. after her eastern exploration, move her south and hit civatonia. then start exploring land near civatonia. DP's discretion for the warrior in civatonia, i feel fortify her, (name her Artemis), but exploring is fine. for the stables, have the hoplite and all future ones fortify in the stables, but if more then three are produced, have them go and defend other cities with less defense. that should be enough, but i will attend the TC so I will be able to advise during it.

Please, please, PLEASE use the lux slider to control happiness as needed! Things aren't looking very good in Olympus at the moment. We cannot afford to miss a single turn of productivity. Otherwise, keep the sci slider steady at it's minimum. Please end the chat right after writing is completed, so we can contemplate trades, changes to the science reserach policy, etc.

No gold expenditure is allowed, unless it involves a foreign demand. If we recieve such a thread, the DP is allowed to make the approprioate payment should gold be 'requested.'

The current worker is allocated to finish the road to Civinatoria. It may then mine the tile 1W of that city. After that task, it will be used to connect and improve Augean Stables. The new worker in Civinatoria will be allocated to improve that city, while the new worker in Augean Stables will be used for that city.

A request to the DP - please rename the current worker "Worker 1." Rename the worker produced next "Worker 2," "Worker 3" after that, and so on. This will help us allocate and refer to workers properly.

Hmm.. I've got conflicting worker instructions here, so this is what I'll do:

allow the worker to finish its projects in Civantonia. Then head it back to the capitol to work on a northward bound road to the Stables. The worker Civantonia produces will follow the scheme of worker numbers, but will have a C after it (as will other cities have an O, C, A, S and whatever #5 is named, presumably P). It will do CTs instructions, but delayed a bit.

SaaM

Production: Settler (5), Hoplite(4), Worker(2), Hoplite(4), Settler(5). Turns approximate due to shrinkage and growth. If I've overestimated our growth potential and we won't reach size 3 before the 2nd settler, then insert another Hoplite and fortify it (if no military instructiosn to the contrary). :)

Use lux slider to control happieness. If that won't do it and a specialist is required, use taxmen if possible, entertainers if not.

The worker produced 3rd in queue should mine and road the BG to the N, NE and then mine the regular grass N (which will already be roaded). [both references relative to Olympus]

If any foreigner enters our cultural borders when there is no MP, stop play so we can get some defenses.

Good News: We have discovered writing and met Xerxes. The Augean Stables have been founded as well.
Bad News: Joan, XMan and Caesar beat us to the punch. Can still trade with Otto, though. Suggest reevalaution of philo-gambit. May want to just head to lit.

The Save

And with that, I am litteraly leaving my house. Will upload log when I get back

edit: log uploaded. grandmother fine, despite fall

Hmm, we usually see a preturn save, a save every 5 turns (turn 5, 10, 15) in addition to the ending save? Are the intermediate saves available?

At least say in the quick summary how many turns were played... ;)

I know. I said that from the start that I'd be heading to writing.

And ok: We founded a city. We found out that the French and Germans were warring. We lost 98g to barbarians, along with some turns on a barracks. We missed the writing monopoly by one turn (it was really the IBT). We met the Persians. I suspect we're on an island with just the 4 AI. We found a nice costal spot with two cows.

Thats about it.
