NEWSFLASH
Styx has been founded! In 1550 BC, the settler party lead by The Reverend has laid down its bags and settled by the sea! It is currently guarded by a Hoplite who the governor plans on asking the President to rename The Rev, after Styx's famous first citizen. The queue is a bit shaky, but the governor plans on requesting that it be changed to something that will allow the cattle to be accessed. Styx does not need a warrior as it has a superior defense. The worker is to be moved from the sugarcane to the forrest, where two shields can be mined instead of one. This will allow for the curragh, which the governor will request instead of the warrior. This will be followed by a temple. The official religion is yet to be decided upon, as something in the back of the Revs mind is just whining that "Being Jewish was soooo 6."
The queue will be as follows: Curragh, Temple, Curragh.
The governor also requests that a worker be brought down from the North, as originally requested. Regardless, Styx is to be the West Coast beacon of the coast! Hail to the nations port city, Styx!

Governor SaaM,

I am a big fan of Cowbell myself!

Now onto the serious business. I am trying to prep the governors to prepare for the chance that we will win the Philo gambit, and then claim Literature. How does that affect Styx?

As you already know, Styx' greatness lies beyond its immediate surroundings, which means we will need to gain access to the outer radius of your city quickly. Can you leave optional instructions to begin a Library build once you build your first Curragh?

I will be grovel for assistance from the other governors to help prop up your fledgling city, so if you could help me out with this I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for your time.

Respectfully,

Donovan Zoi
President of Fanatika

I like to say congrats to you SaaM for being governor of Styx!

I would like to say, I am moving to this wonderful town!! :D

So see ya around!!

[RPG]
Pete came upon the same strange little man he saw awhile back singing "COME SAIL AWAY TO STYX!!!" Pete couldn't believe it!! He actually made a town called Styx, and it had a lot of cows that looked kind of evil. So he decided to live in the town because it looked nice...as of now...

Governor SaaM,

If I am able, I would like to request an about face of your previous plans.

Is it possible for us to bump up the Library in queue so that we are able to expand your borders more quickly? I just have a feeling that our Curragh won't be able to travel too far before ticking off our neighbors, so it may be best to wait.

Secondly, I would like to see us temporarily accelerate Styx' growth until it reaches Size 2. Then we stunt growth again by using both forests for production, thereby getting builds more quickly.

What do you think of this plan? If you accept, I will sponsor a National Surf n' Turf Cookout once we can claim the all that food for our own. ;)

Respectfully,

Donovan Zoi
President of Fanatikos

Governor SaaM,

Here is a current screenshot of your city:

Also, when posting your instructions, I would like to see the governors follow a certain format to make things easier on the DP. Can you follow this format?

Your Office Here - 1050 BC

Build queue

Worker Actions

Do this
Then this
Then this

City Tile Micromanagement

On Turn 4, do this
When city grows to Size 4, use this tile

NOTE: For tile micromanagement, I will be glad to offer my services to optimize your cities if you do not have the time or desire to do so. In those cases, just leave the following instruction under th the MM section:

I entrust the President or DP with MM duties to correct unforeseen events that may affect the well-being or productiveness of my city.

-----

Please let me know what you think of this plan. This will allow you to make as much or as little of your governorship as you have time for.

Respectfully,

Donovan Zoi
President of Fanatikos

President Zoi.

Thank you for the request for a format. I will try to adhere to it in the future.

While I'm taking this oppertunity to not do my homework, I might as well make a few notes for myself.

1) Move the BG worker onto the forrest. I want the city to grow a bit more before I max it out for sheilds. This keeps the growth steady while we wait for the cows to come get their water while getting us 3spt.
2) Queue: Please start work on a galley. This galley will be named the HMS Pinafore, for obvious reasons. It will take 10 turns, and that will not be shortened unless the workers are moved to the cows. Follow this with a harbor, which will take 20, but will be shortened. After this, please build a temple. This last item is subject to change.

So, that is Galley-->Harbor-->Temple

3) Worker actions: We all know what they need to do. Road to Styx first. Then bring down the water from the river. DZ has already outlined how he wants to do this, so follow his plans. Also, road the cows too.

4) MMing. The city will not grow, but it will expand. On the turn in which it expands, please move BOTH workers to the cows.

Other than that, we've a library. Good. Now I can write my college essays in there...

SaaM
who's off to write some more

edit: also, bring Frank home. Styx may not be Transexual Transylvania, but he still lives here.

DZ's cleared this up. Just hook the city up so that clown can become a laborer again.

To all elected officials:

Due to an eagerness to get a chat during a reasonable time for our overseas players, a severe brain cramp and a possible lack of caffeine, I am resheduling the upcoming game session.

It is now scheduled for Monday, September 26th at 7pm, Central time.

My apologies for any trouble!
-- Ravensfire, candidate for President

Governor SaaM,

Your instructions for the upcoming game session request that forests be roaded. Unless I hear otherwise, if a worker is allocated to Styx, I will assume you wish the worked forest roaded first, then the unworked forest.

Thanks!
-- Ravensfire, your upcoming DP

SaaM,

You should really be producing a Granary right now. Doing this will allow you to provide workers to all of the land.

If you don't agree, I suggest you build this right after the Galley.
