Hello. Having recently gotten Poser(yesterday as of this message), I decided to help out everyone with Mesoamerican scenerios with some leaderheads. Other creators may ask for me to post their work here.

-R8XFT, if you are reading this, I will post, or you can post, your works here when you are done ;)

Only two heads by me for now, and one by my friend ShiroKobbure, but I can promise you that more is to come...

did you test that in game first?
is the size 200x240? In the Render options I would increase the quality settings. Move his eyes so that he looks at the player. At the moment it looks like he is watching passing car.
other than that it is a good first head

Thanks for the kind offer, but I'll start my own thread, thanks ;) .

I've sent you some tips in a pm; essentially, it's a good start, but take Shiro's advice on size and render quality (I spoke of this in my pm). You'll be amazed how much better it'll look when you've changed these basics. In terms of the actual leader himself, his look is absolutely fine, a good background too. I'm assuming the body size is set at 100%; I'd set it at 120%, getting him nearer to the camera.

I do think that once you've done a couple of leaderheads and start improving the quality with practice, that you'll make a good leaderhead maker - you're keen enough to keep practicing; my other advice is that people will make good comments about your work, but others won't. Some of the criticism will be constructive, some will be blatant damning of your work, so just laugh it off and feel confident about your artwork. However, the thing to do is practice, practice, practice. Get a method (I've sent you mine) and that really helps.

Only one head for now, but I can promise you that it wont be the first!
You mean last? lol... anyway, great first LH! I'm assuming that there was a quality loss in the pic displayed in the first post?

Thankyou Shiro, I've updated the first post to include credit to you for your work, as well as the two links for the download my friend.

PS: Now that i've gotten into LH making myself, I can see why you don't like doing PCXs...lol. Eventally I'll get to them, and I will probably make some for some of your LHs as well.

Sword, there's a good LH tutorial in the tutorial forum. Also, I found that it takes less time to render if you render a series of bitmaps into a dedicated folder at the proper 200x240 resoulution. Then all you have to do is take one of the BMP files, reduce it to 254 colors and save the pallette, then use the animation wizard to convert the 121 bitmaps into a FLC, then use the palette you created to get the proper transparency (since the last two colors won't be used by any of the frames, you won't have any transparency issues).

Good LH, BTW

I usually dont have long rendering times, if I do its because my comp frooze... :( I dont know why this is the cause. Thankyou for the advice though. I think you are a class member on this board HM. Wish I could meet you. (I saw Bamboo for the first time in DC, thought it was trees at first..)
