*** GAME FULL ***

Welcome to Drake, a proeminent English Sea Dog captain, who gives his name to this PBEM about the Great Armada.

As there are 3 MP versions and another PBEM is already under way (Alba II with version "a"), this one will use version "c" which is more open in terms of diplomacy.

You need to download and install the scenario (including the main art files and the patch located here : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=104091

Players :
- DeafDolphin
- Clasical_hero
- Luthor_Saxburg
- Loulong
- JG99_Korab
- King Arthur

The civs are:

Spain; Maghrib; France; League; Netherlands; England; Scotland; Ireland

And the Alliances are England - Dutch vs Spain - Ireland. Then France and League are also in a locked war. Scotland and Maghrib are free. This would mean 6 players and that Spain-Ireland is a LARGE civ to manage.

So playing civs and play order are :

JG99_Korab : Maghrib
Classical_hero : France
Loulong : Spain + Ireland
King Arthur : England + Netherlands
Luthor_Saxburg : League
DeafDolphin : Scotland

Please send me a PM and your playing times (GMT + actual playing times)

SPECIAL RULES:
- no city razing or abandoning. Selling all improvements is authorized.
- 1st turn no fight
- First 5 turns no alliance with Scotland (Scotland can attack whoever it wants though).
- No ship bombardment of land improvements (roads, mines, and irrigation). Ships can of course still bombard each other as well as units and cities.

OK the fixed biq will be posted tomorrow (I prefer to try with our own PBEM first to see if it is going).

Anyway, 4 more people would be needed.

Your country needs YOU, right now ! :)

Even though I haven't played this great scenario in a while, I would like to give it a try with Scotland or Maghrib

I'll join. Thanks for the heads up Loulong!

Welcome !

OK we have a full house.

First I need everyone to download and install the scenario and the patch and to start playing it in SG mode to see everything works fine.
You have to manually install the patch.

I will release the MP version we will use and send it to the person who will start when everyone has it working alright so.... to your modems !

Can you explain the logic of this rule? I am not disgreeing, just would like to understand why as I've never seen it in other PBEM's.

Actually it is just a rule I copied from the AlbaII thread.
I am completely convinced by it myself actually. But this was done because some ships have bombard abilities that they can/should use against other ships. On the other hand since both infrastructures and workers are expensive some players asked for avoiding the destruction of coastal infrastructures by ships. Since Civ3 does not make a difference between the two kinds of bombardment we have to control ourselves.

But as I said I accepted that rule much more than I engineered it.

Sorry I meant SP (single player). As Korab said SG is Succession Game.

So, anyway, if you had not noticed this PBEM is using a fan-made scenario (the fan is me BTW so if you don't like the scenario, stay put and say you love it ;) ) that you must download and install. The scenario is about the Great Armada era (1580 - 1640) and includes a lot of modifications (lots of units, new tech-tree, etc...) which is pretty stable BUT is about 32 MB IIRC.

So let us know whether you are still interested in playing it, please.

The link to it is in the first post, in Korab's post and here again :
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=104091

Follow the instructions there and you should have installed at the end the main files, the patch and the biq to practice the scenario a bit before playing in PBEM. It is fun but also quite difficult.

The regular one is fine. The MP version is mostly the regular one with German cities replaced by desert and some changes in resources/unit costs (landsknechts, reiters,...). A few turns are enough to see it is working. A few more turns isn't bad to see how it works.

Please everyone post here if you have downloaded/installed and played correctly the scenario.

sorry i just didnt know what patch meant lol

but i am stuck
do i need to download the main art files + patch 2.1 + TGA v.2.2c

and if so where are the main art files and patch2.1 please :undecide:
