MINISTER'S ANALYSIS:

I would like to make a suggestion. With the massive threat of 24 horsemen BARBARIANS, I propose keeping tabs of them. The horsemen east of priapos, would be more then enough to do some advantageous recon work on them. The horsemen will most likely attack Hiedelburg, I would like to put forth a mere idea of war aganist Germany. If Hiedelburg is attacked, the amount of horses attacking it would probably prove too much for the German city to withstand. This provides a great window of oppurtunity to attack Hiedelburg, then push on to Berlin especially with "cease fire" between Rome and Germany.

I know, I just read the Chatlog, 24 Barabarians! That's more than we can handle at the moment. Even if the RDF was made and complted, and ready to roll, the depth of the Barbarian Stacks are simply too great for the RDF to effectivley counter.

I will most certainly keep tabs on these Barbarians, as following them as you suggested COULD lead us to war with Germany capitolizing off of the Barbarian Attacks. Although the number one issue now is homeland defense.

Thank you for your input, Vikingruler.

I am enquiring as to how many more troops you are likely to need in the near future. The people wish to build the Knights Templar in the Augean Stables and I am looking at how best to do that. I recognise though, that the Augean Stables is one of only 2 cities with a Barracks and it will therefore also have to play its part in supplying troops. I am currently considering alternating between city improvement and troops before commencing on the Knights Templar. As Civantonia is building Swords, I propose to build Horsemen in preparation for Knights. I do not intend to complete the Trebuchet as that does not need to be built by a city with a Barracks so could be built just as effectively by Styx, Priapos or even Olympus.

Could you please let me know if this suits your plans

Furiey, Governor of The Augean Stables.

PS: I also intend to get the city to size 7 to increase the unit support.

Governor Furiey,

Your offer of lending the Minstery of Defense your city's production power is gracious indeed, and i will gladly accept it. I myself supported the idea for The Knight's Templar as we can then work on bettering our empire instead of protecting it. It is good that the Augean Stables has a barracks, I would much like to produce a corp. of Horseman from it at the moment. Our military needs the extra mobility and the Experienced Horseman will be invaluable in the RDF and on raids.

Thank you Governor Furiey, If you could produce Horsmean that would be perfect.

OKay, That'll be added right away, to tell you the truth I've been so caught up planning the German Assault that I haven't thought about our other enemy's aside from the fact that France has troops on both sides of us.

Governess Furiey, I noticed earlier the Stable's plan for a Trebuchet and was about to contact you about this. but you were swift enough to change it before my message. As it is, I am planning in Priapos to finish the Harbor (five turns), and create a Veteren Galley as well as a Trebuchet directly after.

Minister Ranger99, this should take approximately twelve turns before the Trebuchet is finished, and while that may be too long to use against a possible war in the near future with Germany (as it most likely wouldn't be on the front lines), I don't believe any plan shown thus far used Trebuchets. This leads me to believe that twelve turns should be enough time to construct the Trebuchet . If you do feel, however, that the Trebuchet should be built before the Galley, and thus be finished in nine turns, that can be arranged.

I would think, however, that we could use the Galley in exploring more than we could use the Trebuchet for it's seemingly futuristic purpose. Specifically, the Galley can be used to scout the shores of Germany as well as possibly provoke them to declare war if we refuse to leave their water territory.

It's been decided that we will NOT go to war with Germany this Turnchat, INSTEAD I want you to begin to rally our troops at the points on the map. (The Dots with X's thorugh them have been chaned a square or so in one direction, so do NOT use the rally points with X's through them. The units that are required to rally at the different rally points are indicated on the map. The units that are to be massed are the specific rally points are:

6 Swordsman
3 Horseman
2 Hoplites

(The Horsemen that Civatonia will produce is to rally at the Horsmean rally point, the Horseman near Priapos will become our Spy.)

Rally Point Plan

Their are exceptions though; If the Barbarian's do NOT attack Heidelburg or make a move in that direction, we must drop the German Assault plan and compltley scrap it.

If that happens we will take this policy instead:

Quote:
Use the Horsemen to slowly pick them off. If we make use of our roads and Hoplites for defence we should be able to attack with Horses and retreat to either a safe distance or to the protection of a Hoplite so they are safe from counterattack. It will not be quick, but we should get some Elite Horses from it. Swords can be used in a similar way but will not be able to run for safety afterwards - they could attack from the protection of a Hoplite and as long as they attack a stack will stay under that protection. We MUST make use of our roads.

If the two Barbarian Stacks split up,half towards heidelburg, half toward Fanatiko's territory, make a kind of split between the two upper plans. Take maybe 4-5 Swordsman, (depending on the amount of barbarian Units left in our territitory) and send them to the designated rally point. Also bring along a Horse or Two to keep the Barbarian's in check and to pick off the weaker ones. So basically perform a split between the two other plans previously stated, send troops to the rally points but not ALL of them.

FOR INVESTIGATION OF BERLIN:Take it at the very END of the Turnchat, no sooner or else we won't have the same intelligence, and it may not be correct Intelligence.

This turnchat is ALL preperation for the Assault that will most likley take place next Turnchat. Get all the Intelligenc ethat you can on the germans, and prepare our men for the assault NEXT TC.

If anything NOT planned for, like the French or Romans or Persia, or Germans attak us prematurley, STOP the TC.

ALSO, if Priapos produces a Galley, and the Barbarians, DID attack Heidelburg, move it straight into German Territory to tick them off and make them declare war on us.
If the Barbarians did NOT go towards Heidelburg, or split up, 50/50 Send the galley in Explore Mode preferably NEAR German Waters but not into far enough that they declare war on us..

If a piece of Artillery is completed in ANY city move it up with the Swordsman.

I hope these Instructions are presice and clear enough, as well as easy to execute for you.

One last thing:At the End of the TC on the last turn, at the very very end after both us and our enemiy's are done moving could you Screenshot our Military Presence in the German-Fanatikos theatre. This means most of our troops at their rallied points and the best view of the barbarians we have. These Screenshots will be the basis of our Assault next TC so please make them good. Thanks, And screenshot the Embassie Reports as well.
P.S.-Turn the grid on please.

Hopefully, I should be able to get on a computer Tuesday or Wedensday after the TC with enough power to efffeciently make the world map. Hopefully that can aid us in the next turnchat's planning, should this turnchat go according to plan.

Edit:First off, I like the new edit mode! :P
Second, I was able to make the map.

Minister Ranger99,

Let me first extend my sorrows, and those of the nation, to the brave soldiers that stood before the onrushing barbarians and said "No more!"

No more would the agents of chaos travel.
No more would our farmers fear the loud noise at night.
No more would our children, our future, need watch for the dark hulks of a barbarian warrior as they played.

It came at a cost, a terrible, terrible cost, but the last desperate attack of those that reject civilization was defeated. A nation sheads a grateful tear for them and their families.

Unfortunately, that leaves us in a precariou place defensively. On the eve of a war with Germany, I see several cities without defense, and more scarely defended. Our capital, our pride, Olympus, is without her defenders and guardians. A short march away lies German Archers. Near Heidelburg, lies a sizeable German army. I ask that you work with the Governors to determine how best to protect our home cities as we enforce our rights of conquest on the German city of Berlin.

Thanks,
-- Ravensfire, President of Fanatikos

Greetings.

At current, the city of Priapos has a Trebuchet ready to build. If we change our production, we can finish a regular Hoplite brigade in half the time, and thus can be ready for the next turn. I'd be willing to push off the Trebuchet until after this hoplite, due to the fact that my next long-term project, a Cathedral, might be quite a ways off.

I recommend the Hoplite at the moment, the German Archers obviously DID send re-inforcemnts and a LOT, perhaps more than expected we need to deal with them now. Thanks for your flexability Governor.

--Minister of Defense:Ranger99

Minister Ranger,

It seems your wish for production revolves around Swordsmen, and possibly other offensive units. In the Civatonia thread, I spoke about possible Defensive budgeting to which you turned down, and with good reasons in later posts.

My main concern was getting more hoplites, but with your offensive-defense apporach, I'm starting to see it from your side of building more offensive units. The question is will they be ready in time for the Archer's possible march to Fanatikos territory? Should we divert our optional Horsemen from the original invasion plan?

Gerikes, Yes I've decided with your help at least to divert the horseman. Berlin has three Spears and a horse in it, our original strike force has a HIGH chance of winning against that in a single turn. Therefore using Horseman to protect the Swordsman during the siege is usless becasue we're gambling that we can win in one turn. But this IS a gamble, if we DON"T win in a single forcefull attack, the our Swordsdman run the risk of being out-flanked and Berlin re-inforced quickly.

To all Citizen's and leaders,

OUr plan went extraordinarily well! The barbarians ended up splitting up, some going into our Hoplites, sadly killing three of them. But on the brighter side the remaining Barbarian's went on to Heidelburg. As predicted the German's sent a MASSIVE amount of re-inforcements to the area in the form of Archers, perhaps even too many as now we have a large German Army to our South. Our armiy's are in place for the assault and we WILL continue as planned, Archers to the South or not we'll take Belrin and deal with the German Army's.

The Ministery of Defense's can promise you that!

--Minister of Defense:Ranger99

Minister Ranger99,

I mentioned this once in another thread. The recent events cause me to bring it up again.

Our static defenses are in woeful shape. Olympus, the heart of our Government lies open to invaders! German troops are close enough that our newspapers have letters to the editor warning of a possible attack.

What should our static defenses be? How quickly should our Governors work to improve their defenses?

I am concerned that as we attack Berlin, so will Germany move to attack Priapos and Olympus!

-- Ravensfire, President of Fanatikos

I agree, our defenses are extremley lacking of strength. However, ravensfire, this defense problem is a problem for the governors not the Ministry of Defense. I suggest you post in the governor's thread as I will do.
