Well I'm happy you're willing to play, otherwise I have trigger-happy NPC's that would be glad to go down fighting in a hail of bullets to playtest my new economic system. (PS. I wasn't drunk Andis, I just decided not to care too much so my more carefree side came out.

Middle Eastern Coalition (aka Arabian Union/Caliphate of Allah/Allah's Coalition): After the nuclear exchanges of the 22'nd Century the major powers were weakened enough for yet another confrontation between Israel and her neighboring states. Fighting valiantly Israel held out for 50 years between major offensives and low-level skirmishes. Eventually though the Islamic States and Asia Minor (at the time) and Persia sided with the Coalition and drove the Jews off into the sea. The ones who hadn't emigrated by then were given the alternative to leave or renounce their faith.
Islamic States: Radical clerics in Egypt formed an alliance of burning faith and divine zeal. With unparalelled bloodlust they have slaughtered anyone in the way of Sharia law in countries where there are muslim majorities.
Persian Theocracy: Once two seperate countries Turkey suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Greece, the Balkan Alliance and Russia. Forced to call in Iran and her protectorates for reinforcements the new country was able to push back the attackers with egragarious casualties. These days Asia Minor has become yet another important province of the Shiite powerhouse that struggles to maintain her borders.
Italy: Italy remained comparatively quiet during the 'slaughter for land' that occured in the early 23'rd Century. As Greece and the Balkan Alliance fell into a war against each other she saw her oppertunity and seized the territories of Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia-Hercegovina.
Meditteranean Union: Named after Greece's ambitions to become a major naval power, this empire was forged out of a decisive 23'th Century conflict against the Balkan Alliance. It was quickly decided as Italy stabbed the latter in the back as the major battles of the war ensued.
Japan: Forced off the mainland in the late 22'nd Century by Chinese forces with the moral support of the Russians Japan saw no other option but to expand her empire once again by amphibious conquest of the neighboring archipelagos. During the slaughter for land she seized the oppertunity to commit genocide on each and all of the indigenous populations. Nowadays in the mid-to-late 23'rd Century the native populations of Phillipines and Taiwan are all Japanese. The latter provoked a naval conflict with China that was won only after a rapid deployment of tactical nukes and subsequent evasive actions. The retributions were severe but thanks to it's upgraded 'starwars' system Japan only lost 30% of her cities.
African Republic: A dominion led by Zairë.
South African Federation: The chaos of the late 21'st Century to the 23'rd Century combined with the economic depression, diseases and natural disasters tormenting Africa's already fragile social fabric led to the diplomatic and cultural expansion of South Africa's political sphere who in the end deigned herself responsible to care for her neighbors' plight by taking them in. Only recently has she been in conflict with an increasingly aggressive Zairë intent on expanding her southern borders against a militarily unpreprepared enemy. An alliance was signed with the Coastal Protectorates after the Protectorate's conflict with the Islamic States cooled down with the partitioning of Somalia.
Canada: After the nuclear exchanges of the 22'nd Century, the US population had been diminished by 60%. The relatively intact Canadian nation was led by an ambitious government intoxicated by the power of martial law and decided to start off the 'slaughter for land' by applying blitzkrieg tactics against it's longstanding American friend. Most of her strategic weapons already deployed to far-flung enemies and Canada sharing some of the most advanced countermeasures in the world a war-weary and suffering USA decided to sell her Alaskan territories to Canada rather then enter into yet another fight. A small sum of money was paid to the German government and the British Council was promised coastal bases on Greenland after the sound defeat of Denmark. Greenland was subsequently sweeped by Canadian forces whom encountered little more then the surrender of Danish troops and Canada honored her promise to Britain. Relations were somewhat restored later when Canada provided a much-needed naval strengthening of the annexation of Cuba and her Carribean neighbors who resented the acts of war.
I'll put the map 'o the moon up when I finish it.

Government
Democracy (by election per issue): Great for economy, stability and research. Your citizens are more likely to die for your nation pulse rifle in hand and uncrotched plasma grenade stuffed into her throat because her Daddy told her to 'go kill the foreign bastards who invaded our country'. When this is not the case however Democracies tend to question your every major decisions (wars and revolutions and anything really big will have to be PM'ed to the Mod or you can expect to be disposed and lose PC control temprarily or permanently) and whine about a few thousand casualties if they don't feel it's properly justified.
Republic/Parliamentary Democracy (electives represent the voters): Good for economy, stability and research. Your citizens may or may not feel patriotic if they are invaded depending on how many MP's they got and how they are doing in Congress/Parliament. Congress tends to become skeptic at radical decisions and may try to impeach your presidency for their own benefit or on perfectly reasonable grounds.
