Well, congratulations. However, why are you still online? ;)

Congrats, first confirmed guy with a screenie :) if you can post some more screenies like your starting location and such, please do, we appreciate it alot

The swiss (or closest equivalent) are the first country I go to war with ;p

Happy civing !

oh dam u r so lucky..what the hell is going on with the release dates..they said that europe gets it on 4th nov and USA on 25th ..but now it seems that europe got it first?? ..i guess i have to run to shop and see if i they are selling the copy also..

Well I am envious. I have to wait until November 3rd before Civ4 makes an appearance. Us Aussies always get the "big" games last. Oh well.
Congrats and happy playing... Post some screenies of your first game.

I bet he posted this as it was installing. Notice he hasn't said anything since the first post...

The European release date of the 4th seems to be related to European release of ENGLISH-version.

In general, if you localize a game, you can release it in those language areas easily, as it is not likely to be widely pirated in the rest of the world, or damage the potential sales of the English-version considerably. English still seems to be the only language that suffers from that disease.

This was the case previously with another favorite of mine, Jagged Alliance 2, which was released in a German version months before any English publisher was even found. This was done by the Sir-Tech developers because they could do the German deal without damaging their potential English sales in any way, thus leaving them in a still-strong position for negotiations with English-language publishers. That release sharpened my German skills considerably, btw. ;)

And Europe probably didn't get it first, we're just at least 6 hours ahead of you guys over there.

Well at least his game is in a language I cant understand! That takes away some of my envy .... :joke:

But why Germany and Switzerland?? Havent seen any ppl from England, France or even US cheering.

Just tried it out quickly. I installed it in english and it works! It runs even at 1900x1200 resolution of my notebook. Not surprisingly this pushes my Dell Inspiron 8600 to it's limits.

There's even an animated Sid introducing you to the game. Very slick interface, some real eye candy.

Well, have to go back to work. Won't be able to really play it until i'm home, so nothing to envy me too much for.

Greetings,

Rince

Well done, i now envy you and wish to cut your tongue out, but, there is this monitor blocking me from doing so.
