My route towards Civ: I'll depart at eleven o'clock

good luck, nice trip....reminds me of my time with Philips in Drachten, not too far from your place....

@Willem:
You should get it in each Media Markt (look at www.media-markt.de for the nearest location )
At least a friend of mine got it at the Media Markt in Koblenz, and they had shelfs of it.

Due to the graphics issue, now I own his copy :-) and he is a proud player of FIFA 2006 now.

And the manual and tech tree: are they in German or English?

By the way: setup language is something different from in-game language. Could you check, please?

Thanks!

Manual and tech tree are both in german but hey I've got my copy, german isn't a problem and btw I won't use them to much never done before in any game..

The game starts with a intro movie showing the Take 2 sign, after that you'll see the real civ4 intro movie wich was allready availible for download on the civ main site, but I believe this version lasts a little longer. You begin in space fly towards earth, you see europe, the first light dots appear (probably fires caused by early man cooking) on the globe as early man settles, then you fly over water and land see the great wall and then a crowning of a king takes place with a large croud cheering in front of him:

After that you get in the main menu, with the Yetu song also availible for download earlier. You see the world turning in slow pace, from a space view behind your transparant menu. This takes a lot of my memory or from my videocard and I notice some "hicks" or little stutters in my background music... Any one knows what causes this? But so far great impression, although intro video was a little "pixely" low resolution but still great.

OK! Thanks for the info. I think I will be a little more patient. (Which is a difficult thing to be...)

the civ4 map contains about 1,44 GB of used space on your hard drive. The movie folder contains 93 files (446MB), most of them being .dds but also .bik. 615 MB of sounds both .wav and .MP3. (2.365 sounds!)

I got my copy this morning at the Mediamarkt in Duisburg, Germany for 39 Euro (also a nice trip). And... I had a flawless installation and a smooth running game without problems! :)
If anybody is interested; that's on XP Home with an nVidia GeForce 6200 64 MB TurboCache supporting 256 MB videocard; main memory 1 GB RAM.

I experience some flickering in the bodies of the 3d figures (when they move) I'm no updating my videocard, hope this'll fix everything...
