Apologies if someone's already done it, but I thought some who are finally managing to crack the egg open when they get Civ IV running (and those still just getting a feel) might like a leader-trait quick reference chart. The 26 leaders cover every trait combination except 2: Creative/Organized and Industrious/Philosophical.

I always wondered why they left out Creative/Organized and Industrious/Philisophical?

Was it because they couldn't find any historical leaders to fit those views (unlikely)

Were the combinations too powerful?

Why have all those leaders and leave out those two combinations? You have plently more leader slots!

Great Wonders are a great way to get leaders, so industrious/philosophical would be nuts

Yeah! I remember hunting for that combination (Ind/Phi) for my first game, and I was real disappointed!
In the long run, though, it makes sense from a play-balancing perspective.

Likewise, Creative and Organized build on each other. Creative civs territory grows from the start and Organized cuts city maintainance costs, so a Creative/Organized civ could come close to an ICS scenario.

I don't think Creative and Organized would be so bad (Philosophical and Industrious does seem strong). I wonder, of the civs in the game, who you could add as a new leader to be Creative and Organized. Of the top of my head, I'm not sure.

Yup, Phi/Ind would be too strong.

As for Cre/Org, there is always the expansion ;) (incidentally, in previews, Louis was listed as Cre/Org, with Cre/Ind being the other left-out combo. Personally, I find Cre/Ind to be more powerful than Cre/Org).
