Welcome to The Augean Stables, the third city of Fanatikos!

A new thread for a new term but looking suspiciously like the old one. The stables are still where we left them in the middle of the city, and the roses are doing fantastically thank you!

The Knights Templar has produced 4 Crusaders (although some have lost their lives in battle), the next will be fully trained in 2 turns.

Current Queue: Knight (4) -> University -> (6) Knight (4) - We have a Golden Age!

One more Knight to finish the French war then we commence the University.

We have built the Knights Templar so MM and the timing of city improvements are not so important as they were. We do however need a Cathedral to keep the people happy, at the moment with the loss of the gems we are about to have a riot and will either need to replace the luxuries, hire an entertainer or increase the luxury slider to prevent disorder.

We can make a maximum at size 10 after corruption of 14spt, enough to train a Knight in 5 turns. At the present time, growing the population to size 12 will not allow a Knight to be produced any quicker as only 2spt extra would be gained, one of which would be lost to corruption. A courthouse would help reduce the loss, but probably not enough to allow a Knight to be trained every 4 turns. We therefore need to empasise the city's production as it stands now rather than going for growth, further growth will gain us commerce rather than useable shields. perhaps when our workers have finished their tasks one or more could find a home in our fair city with the best gardens in the land (thanks to the stables :D)

This city will of course also do it's bit when the time comes to aid our research by the establishment (at the appropriate time) of a University!

Here's to a prosperous and productive Term 4

Build queue

Cathedral (11) -> Knight (5) (turns based on not needing specialists)

Worker Actions (turn numbers for guidance only)

turn 0: continue roading (3)
turn 3: go to plains NNW of the city and road then irrigate (8)
turn 11: go SW to plains N of the city road and irrigate (8)
turn 19: go to grassland NE of the mountain 3SW of the city and road to link Augean Stables to Styx

In case of war, if possible protect the Worker with units (preferable), but the DP may interrupt the Workers and get them to safety if it is necessary to do so. Please then continue the Worker Actions where interrupted when it is safe to do so.

City Tile Micromanagement

Move a labourer from a 2 food, 1 shield, 2 commerce tile to the irrigated river plains tile for extra commerce.

Maintain at 14spt after corruption for the Cathedral in 11, when it is possible to move the labourer of the mountain onto an irrigated plains without delaying the Cathedral (for some growth) please do so. The DP may move a citizen off a low-commerce hill rather the mountain for slower growth but higher commerce is the commerce is needed to maintain research or luxury.
Once the Cathedral is built put back to 14spt after corruption with 0 growth for Knights in 5
If a higher commerce river tile is roaded and irrigated, use that in preference to lower commerce irrigated plains/mined grass tiles.

Please use the lux slider if possible, but if needed the DP may use specialist to prevent disorder moving a citizen off a the mountain first, then if more than one is needed a 2 food plain or mined grassland. Do not let the city riot!

Rushes
None

Worker Joins
None planned, although one would be welcome if it became available just as long as the luxury spending could support it. If one is joined have it work an irrigated plains.

Build queue

Cathedral (1) -> Knight (5) -> Knight (5) -> Knight (5) (turns based on no specialists or Golden Age)

Worker Actions (turn numbers for guidance only)

Turn 0: all Workers moved
Turn 1: Worker on plains 2NE Road (this will give access to Marseille); Worker on plain NNW join worker on plains 2NE.
Turn 2: new Worker 2NE Road (1); 2 Workers finish Irrigating N of city goto forest ENE
Turn 3: 2 Workers in Forest Road (3); 2 Workers from Plains move to Forest to join the others
Turn 4: 2 New Workers on the Forest Road – this will complete the Road in 1 turn and before we declare War.

If we want to declare on turn 5
Turn 5: 4 workers move to Mountain
If we have another 2 turns before declaring (ie: turn 7):
Turn 5: 3 Workers go to plains WNW, 1 go to Mountain SSE
Turn 6: 3 Workers WNW road (connects Augean Stables to Lyons for the attack), Worker on Mountain Mines
Turn 7: 3 Workers move to Mountain
Turn 8: 3 Workers Mine (due in 4)

In case of war, if possible protect the Worker with units (preferable), but the DP may interrupt the Workers and get them to safety if it is necessary to do so. There are 2 options above to get the Workers to safety on the Mountain where they can do useful work. With the razing of Rouen in the first turn of War they should be able to continue safely.

City Tile Micromanagement

turn 0: leave as is to complete the Cathedral
turn 1: Set to 14spt after corruption and zero growth for Knights in 5. This will need:
1 mountain
3 hills
2 irrigated grass
1 Sugar
3 off 2food 1 shield tiles – use the ones to give best commerce.
The DP will have to MM if Enemy troops prevent tiles from being used. If at all possible maintain the shield output, there is some food in the store so the city may be set to a negative food situation but do not let it actually starve and lose population.

In case of unhappiness, please use the lux slider if possible, but if needed the DP may use specialist to prevent disorder moving a citizen off a the mountain first, then if more than one is needed a 2 food plain or mined grassland. Do not let the city riot!

We have completed the Cathedral and are no longer the unhappiest city in Fanatikos. We have gained Education from the Great Library (rendering it obsolete) which means we can now build a University in the city to speed our nation's research. However we are about to declare War on France which means a few more Knights are in order first!

Workers have completed some strategic roads in preparation for the war, and are now on their way to the mountain to mine safely for a while. This will give a second mountain that can be used to maintain enough shields to build Knights in 5 for the war in case the first is occupied by enemy troops.

To maintain the high shield output necessary for Knights our city's growth is stagnant. There is room for 2 more Workers to join our city if they get bored of mining, roading or irrigating and want to "work with horses" :mischief: for a bit. Perhaps in this war we will gain a few French "migrant" Workers who will free our own hard working Workers for other things.

Build queue

Knight (3) -> Knight (5) -> Knight* (5) -> University (turns based on no specialists or Golden Age)
*If the 3rd Knight is not needed it may be skipped in the queue

Worker Actions (turn numbers for guidance only)

Turn 0: 3 Workers move to mountain SSE
Turn 1: 3 Workers mine (4)
Turn 5: 3 Workers road (3), 1 Worker released
Turn 8: 3 Workers released

In case of war, if necessary protect the Worker with units (preferable), but the DP may interrupt the Workers and get them to safety if it is necessary to do so. They should be pretty safe on the Mountain once we raze Rouens

City Tile Micromanagement

The DP will also have to MM in case of a Golden Age to maximise production whilst minimising shield overrun.

In case of unhappiness, please use the lux slider if possible, but if needed the DP may use specialist to prevent disorder moving a citizen off a the mountain first, then if more than one is needed a 2 food plain or mined grassland. Do not let the city riot!

We have our Golden Age!

This means we can produce Knights in 4 turns. The Workers will finish mining the mountain, 3 will road it and we're pretty much fully improved. We can not grow quickly though. Perhaps now is the time to join to workers to get the most out of our Golden Age.

Build queue

Knight (4) -> University (5) -> Bank (8)

Worker Actions (turn numbers for guidance only)

If 3 French Slaves are available for work (1 in the city, 2 2SW):
Turn 0: 4 Workers are Mining (due in 3), put the Slaves on the same mountain
Turn 1: 3 Slaves Road (6)
Turn 3: 2 Workers road (2), 2 Workers released (join to Augean Stables?)
Turn 5: 3 Slaves and 2 Workers released

If the 3 Slaves are NOT available:
Turn 0: 4 Workers are Mining (due in 3)
Turn 3: 3 Workers road (3), 1 Worker released (join to Augean Stables?)
Turn 6: 3 Workers released (join 1 to Augean Stables?)

In case of war, if necessary protect the Workers with units (preferable), but the DP may interrupt the Workers and get them to safety if it is necessary to do so. They should be pretty safe on the Mountain once we raze Rouens

City Tile Micromanagement

turn 0: move citizen from SW hill to mined grass for Knight in 4 at +2fpt.
turn 4: Knight produced, move citizen from mined grass to SW mined hill, move Irrigated Plains (any but sugar) to ESE hill
turn 7 move citizen from the ESE hill to the unused river Plains (still Uni in 2)
turn 8 move citizen from SW hill to the mined grass (still Uni in 1)
turn
a non sugar plains and the mined grassland to the 2 unused hills for Uni in 5.
turn 9: Uni produced, place citizens from mined grass and one irrigated plain back on the 2 unused hills for 26spt before corruption with 0 growth.

The DP will have to MM if Enemy troops prevent tiles from being used.

If Workers are joined to the city, the DP will need to adjust the above MM to prevent the extra shields from being wasted

In case of unhappiness, please use the lux slider if possible, but if needed the DP may use specialist to prevent disorder moving a citizen off the mountain first, then if more than one is needed a 2 food plain or mined grassland. Do not let the city riot!

Rushes

Worker Joins
1 or 2 Native Workers can be joined to the city if they are available.
