Is there a list of bugs that have appeared? If not it might be a good idea to have one. Here is what I got so far (:gripe: WILL follow in another thread  ):

Bugs

- regular crashes (~2-10 times in 60min) while playing: sometimes reboot, sometimes (more often) to desktop.

- return to desktop when loading a quicksave: when loading a save, the game would simply quit.

- "black terrain" bug (ATI?): the graphics would not display correctly (hehe, on one computer I would get the leaderhead without the head and just the eyes glaring at me)

- game NOT working at all on some notebooks even when specs are met

- stuttering sound in wonder/intro movies (even with a fast enough machine)

- corrupted globe view

- random maps not so random

MAJOR annoyances:

- THE GAME IS FREAKIN' SLOW!!! (even of fast machines - in my case AMD 3800+, Radeon 9700Pro, 1GB RAM)

- it's even slower the more you know about the world map (becomes very evident if you trade for the world map)

- loading a save takes forever (even when a game was already open)

- selecting a unit in a large stack is a pain in the - oh well, you know what I mean  . Example: You move 30 units at once but want to select one of the last ones next round. You scroll to the unit, select it and then it selects them all and jumps back to the beginning.

- when attacking the computer should select the unit with the best chances of winning - it doesn't.

- go-to commands are slow (reminds me of Civ3 multiplayer)

Minor annoyances:

- Foreign Advisor (F4) quits after talking to another leader

- map settings (grid lines, etc) are not remembered after reload (which means they have to be adjusted every time)

- tech tree in-game is not really showing what ALL the prerequisites are

- the sort order in the Domestic Advisor (F1) is changed every time (would be nice to remember the view like in Civ 2 & 3)

- the civilopedia only displays the icons in the main view (but at least you can randomly click on one and get the list then)

- when using a great person to rush a tech that one is working on, the benefit should be displayed right away (I have to change the tax rate before it shows)

- last save-directory not remembered

That's what I can think of for now, I'll add more items if you post them HERE. I stopped playing cIV since this is unplayable the way it is. It's just no fun.

I have one minor and two major problems.
MAJOR
-I can't load a saved game (autosaved or otherwise). I get the "Done" message and then the game crashes to the desktop.
-The system gets painfully slow around 1780's and gets progressively worse. In fact, I clicked the next turn button last night, got up, made a sandwich, came back and the game still wasn't done moving on to the next turn.
MINOR
-I was excited that the Wonder Movies were back but they don't run properly. I turned them off.

Just wanna say, thats a nice post Markstar, its a good idea to round up all the bugs/annoyances for the programmers to look at;

Im sure they wont give a crap, but still nice initiative :goodjob:

Thank you Zubyo. :)

Even though this thread did not get a whole lot attention, they started their own version here.

Now let's see how many of these issues actually get resolved - I don't have high expectations.

I have:

- regular crashes (~2-10 times in 60min) while playing: sometimes reboot, sometimes (more often) to desktop.

- stuttering sound in wonder/intro movies (even with a fast enough machine) (WITH SOME SETTINGS)

- Mostly grapic crashes when i build stuff.

- Copyprotection Vs. Windows Custom settings

- No problems with blackscreen or messup with grapic, but i had the same problems with the grapic youst before my old gpufan died.

- eliminated the most of the graphic problems but after reboot everthing got messed up. Still debugging, planing to wait for the patch before i continue.

I'm getting no video at all (except for the cursor), but I have audio. Only a few people have this problem if the forum is anything to go by, and I don't recall whether we all had ATI cards.

great summation! i agree, the PRIMARY problem for me is the freakin' choppy performance. might start out "ok" at 15 fps, but will always drop eventually to 3...then 1....ugh!!!

oddly, it seems to slighly improve when i'm over terrain w/o trees (damn swaying trees...who needs that??)...and even moreso improved when i'm not over ANY land (i.e. ocean tiles). what does THAT mean?? someone smart can figure out if that means anything.

of the minor annoyances, i agree that when you have a stack, you have to click/scroll all the way to the end and then select, and then you get to do it over again. not cool.
