OMTS, or One More Turn Syndrome!

Arrghh, I have to admit, with Civ 4 OMTS is killing me... I've got the lurgy bad, I'm diseased and rotting from within.

It's killing my fiancee. Did you know they used to cite the Championship Manager game in divorce cases? Well, Civ 4 could well be the next game.

It's killing my sleep! Since I bought Civ 4 I haven't been able to part company to go to bed before 1.30 am each night. Even then my brain's alert and "fried" thinking about my next few turns ahead....

Therefore, it's also killing my work!

So, what to do?

Hmmm, I guess play some more!

Well it hasn't affected me yet. But then I tend to play custom games with time victory and space race victory disabled (I don't find either victory to be satisfying to myself).

Yes, quite badly even.

Sometimes I hold of on playing when I've only 30 mins or so, since I know I won't be able to stop in time

Once I'm playing its very hard not to play one more turn. Great stuff! :goodjob:

I managed to quit playing the game, but now I'm spamming here, which isn't much better, because I definitly should do something else ...

When starting playing, I can't stop any more.

Got it on last Friday (release day in Germany)

and played the whole weekend

and some hours every evening in the week although I have to get up at 5.30 A.M in the morning :eek:

I love this game. Started on settler level (to try out everything) playing Arabs on the desert map. Now short before space or domination victory.

My Arabs are hinduistic and built the Rock'n Roll :eek:

I quit playing games during the week a couple of years ago....that has ended. I've been playing a game or two during the week, then multiplayer on Friday and single player again on Saturday....what a blast. Firaxis really outdid themselves this time.

Yeah, perhaps they 'implemented' the crashes as features in order to make it easier for you to quit playing ... ^^

Yeeaa i have the OMTS syndrome :crazyeye:

Been up to midnight everyday since release playing.
Then when i must go up (at 5 in the morning) im very :sleep:

Nah, the burnt smell was you nuking your enemy back to the stone age

lol, I actual did burn my supper once and the house was filled with smoke. I now restrain myself from playing civ 4 while cooking supper.

I'll tell you what most affects me. It's these polls and wondering when they will ever end. The same thing over and over and over and over.

Do some people just not have anything better to think about or consider?

Besides it's the OT thread. Stuff gets regurgitated now and then and pops back up as a poll. 'Tis all good.

As for OMTS I only have it when playing the game

And luckily I've been holding off playing lately. I have the game, but it slows down pretty badly in later gameplay, therefore I don't play as much as I might.

Yep, Staying up until 1am and getting up at 6:30 during most of the week. Falling asleep with my face on the keyboard and waking up with the imprint on my face.
I have to get out to the pub 2 times a week to get drunk so that I come home and actually sleep.
