Look what I stumbled on! It seems that today Civfanatics is traffic-ranked number 5,686 on the whole internet! A lot of the recent activity due to the Civ4 release (and the sharp drop as soon as we started playing!) can be found on this chart:

[Edit] Not that they are competing/comparing but CivFanatics beats Ferrari.com, but they are close. :mischief:

Yahoo as #1?!! Bull. MSN as #2? Bull again. Google is the number 1 search engine in the world with over 50% of the market.

This isn't based on the number of searches, it's by how many people visit the site. Yahoo and MSN have news, weather, sports, comics, IM, homepages, etc, which put them over Google, at least for now.

Today must have been slow for CFC, as the one week average was 5,310. Pretty impressive.

Anybody else notice we jumped over 24,000 spots in the last 3 months? At that rate we'll be #1 in no time!

Hmmm, I think "traffic" is based on data transferred. One of the reasons people like google is it's simplicity. You don't have to download new pictures everytime you go on there, unlike yahoo, and msn. Also msn is the default homepage for most computers probably

I really like information like this. Looks like Civfanatics is healthy and growing.

Alexa also states the 80% of all internet sites are faster than ours!!!! :wow:

That's bad. I'm sure that this slowness works as a brake in our growth rate.

BTW, the site I worked on is 6,940th. Not bad for a State website...

Uhh, it's not exactly the *main* state website MarineCorps (I found it already

). Just as an example, there are websites for stuff like a State's Tourism, Transportation, Education, etc... there's a bit more than 50 websites. I didn't know you worked on that website CT, but I remember another one from a while back (can't remember URL).
