I'm sure this thread has already been done, but I cannot tell what people's opinions on the game are anymore so I'm just gonna ask one question to the people who have played the game (not suffering from problems): do you like the game or not (vote)? If you say no, tell why.

I like this game, although i will say that it does take a little getting used to, alot of things have been changed since civ III, so it takes some getting used to but the core ideas are there and its a good game

I'm not totaly thrilled with it as a result of technical issues and bugs. None the less, it's civilization at the heart of it all and to me there has never been a better game design. I have to say yes, I like it.... but no I don't love it.

well i am the first no, and that is because - due to the issues pre-patch - I cannot experience the game 'as designed'.

Ask again post-patch(es) and perhaps my answer will change. BTW I meet all the specs for the game and I run much more (system/resource) intensive games. So right now I am jaded.

Is this thread really necessary? Given that these forums are for people who enjoy Civilization why the need to ask?

I see your point but given the plethora of issues with the initial release, I think the thread is relevant, at least until the game is stable. Remembering of course, that for many - right now - it isn't stable.

I also see your point that there were/are issues with the game, but hopefully the patch will correct most of them.

You're saying, seriously, that for many people Civ IV is not stable? Let's take 100 people. How many of these have a game that is unstable? I say maybe ten.

Ten percent of the people owning Civ IV are having problems (and that is high, IMO).

That is not my definition of "many". If it were 75%, that would be "many". I think you're sense of what is real and what is actually real needs some tweaking.

I've seen many people gripe and complain about the game on this forum...
