I called T2 just to discuss the patch with them and they agree that 1.08 wasn't quite right so they recalled it. He said the new patch should be out any day now. As soon as I got off the phone, I checked the update key and sure enough, 1.09 is downloading as I type this. Let's give this one a shot...

METHOD 2: Download from the web You can also download the patch from the servers below if you are having trouble downloading it otherwise. Also, the installation asks if you want to install some Fire??? something program for multiplay. As I don't MP, I declined that part.

Civ4 main menu --> Advanced --> Check For Updates. Make sure CivIV isnt blocked by windows firewall
