Patch not Installing

The patch is not installing for some reason. It gives the error of not being able to detect civ4. I already dled the patch from multiple sources and reinstalled the game several times. Is there a solution? Could a zip version of the patch work? Thanks.
 
I got the same or similar problem.

Getting an error message: CRC error: the file C:/Program Files/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Civilization4.exe doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file.

I also had problems playing my LEGAL COPY without the patch! I always had to use sd4hide for playing this game! I Better not buy legal copies? I mean if I get the same problem when I would just download the game...why bother buying it?
 
Same issue here, with the CRC, upon trying to install patch 1.09. I have had NO problems playing this game, other than get whooped;) . Any ideas?
 
same with CRC, but managed to play MP well, except for always, "your files does not match ones with the host" and sync errors. Sync is most annoying here.
 
I get that error also when I try to install. Also, the patch defaults to my C: drive but my game is on my D: drive. Do either of you have the game on anything other than C: drive?
 
I tried a reboot, still didn't work. Turned off everything also. My wife downloaded and and has the same problem with her PC.

Patch installed fine on my lappy, but on my desktop it won't, same error. It's a different file though, so perhaps the desktop file is corrupt and not the laptop file, although I seriously doubt it. :confused:

The message above happens a lot, seemingly with european versions - just hit ignore and it works fine.
 
Now I can't play, first noticed shortcut wasn't working, so went to programs list, no option to play. So I opened drive and closed and when
"play screen" came up nothing happens. And mine is a USA version.
 
I tried reinstalling, redownloading, it still doesn't work. What do I do? AHH!
 
I just did the "ignore" on it, and it seemed to work. Everything is working again, and game loaded, although I havnt played yet.:)
 
Am I the only one left with the problem? The only thing I can think of now is to get the new files individually. /me cries!
 
I didnt install the patch directly into the game as I use a seperate games dedicated computer.
Running the installer from my memory stick however, I still got the same problem related here.
In my frustration, I then clicked on the installer on my memory stick again, I got a message to say the programme was allready running, but doing that seemed to lead to another box that opened telling me it was now searching for the files to update and this time found them and the patch installed correctly.

Might be worth a try.
