Monument v0.2 (Mod) for Civilization 4
Supported Language: English and German

Compatible with Patch 1.09

Installation:

Copy the folder Monument v0.2 including the subfolders
to the mods installation folder
(example "C:/Program Files/Sid Meier´s Civilization 4/Mods")
of Civilization 4. Start the game and load the mod
Monument in the advanced options of the main menu.

Provides: +1:), +1 :) per 50% ♫ Rate, +2 ♫, +1 Great Artist Rate, 4 free War Chariots with 0/0 exp and special promotions (every Chariot get one of the following promotions: Blitz, Charge, Flanking1, Cityraider1)

Flavian Amphitheatre: (World Wonder)
Provides: +1:), +1 :) per 25% ♫ Rate, +2 ♫, +1 Great Artist Rate , 4 free Praetorian with 0/0 exp and special promotions (every Praetorian get one of the following promotions: Commando, Charge, Amphibious, March)

Roman Roads: (World Wonder)
Provides: Bridge Building, +1 Road Movement, +6 ♫, 1 free (India) Fast Worker

KGB: (World Wonder)
Provides: 2 free Spies with Commando promotion, +1 Great Scientist Rate

National Special Force Training Camp: (National Wonder)
Provides: +1 exp in all cities, +1 exp in the city with this National Wonder, 5 free Navy Seals with 0/0 exp and special promotions (every Nayv Seal get one of the following promotions: Commando, Charge, Blitz, Cityraider1, Ambush)

National Travel Agency: (National Wonder)
Provides: +2 :) in all cities, +2 health in all cities, +2 Great Merchant Rate , +1 free Merchant Specialist, Required to Train Resort Builders, 5 free Resort Builders

Wonder Explanation:
If you build the “National Travel Agency” you will get 5 free Resort Builders. This Resort Builders can construct a “Holiday Resort” improvement on all coast titles. After 6 turns a jungle feature title will spot on the coast and after 2 more turns the improvement becomes a cottage (all on a coast title!). Tada, you have a new Holiday Village, and after some more turns the Cottage growth to a Hamlet and… and so on.

Windfarms: (National Wonder)
Provides: Build a Windfarm (Windmill) on the City Title, +1 Great Engineer Rate , Required to Train Windfarm Constructors, 5 free Windfarm Constructors (2 on Land and 3 on Sea)

Wonder Explanation:
The Windfarm Constructors can build Offshore Windfarms on all Coast and Ocean Titles and also can build on all Land and Feature Title (e.g. on Desert/Tundra/Snow- or Forest/Jungle/Oasis Titles –[ will not remove the feature title ]- )

National Park: (National Wonder)
Provides: “Build” a National Park (Forest) on the City Title (+50% def. +1 Production, +0.4 Health), +1 :) in all cities, +1 health in all cities, +1 Great Engineer Rate , 5 free Rangers (3 on Land (Windfarm Constructors) and 2 on Sea (Resort Builders))

Wonder Explanation:
The Rangers can build National Parks (Forests) on every Coast and Land Title. If you place the National Park on a Coast Title without an Holiday Village you will only get a Forest Feature Title on the Coast, with Holiday Village you will get the Forest and a Town.
On Land you will get a Forest and a Cottage on all Terrain even on Snow Titles but expect on Desert Titles – on Desert you will get a Oasis and a Cottage.
If you build your National Park on a Title with a Bonus/Strategic Resource you will get the Forest/Oasis and the proper Improvement (instead of Cottage) on this Title.

Channel Tunnel: (World Wonder)
Provides: +2 Great Engineer Rate, +1 free Tunnel Constructor

Wonder Explanation:
!BETA: The Tunnel Constructor can build a Tunnel on every Coast Title. So you can connect two continents (or connect to an island) with each other (note: only one title). The Tunnel Constructor placed a Railroad and the “Tunnel Train”(Cargo Space = 20) on the Coast Title. You only will see the Railroad, the Train is Invisible, can’t be seen by the enemy and is Immobile. Now if you go on the Tunnel Title, you are able to cross the coast Title immediately and don’t have to wait one turn after the Load Command (but you still have to wait after the Unload Command). The enemy can’t destroy your Train (and all the Units in it) but if he is abele to destroy the Railroad on the Coast Title you will have to wait one turn at the Load and the Unload Command (should represent some damage on the tunnel…).
(in the next version I will try to implement some kind of teleporter tunnel with two “tunnelunits” so you should be able to cross more than just one title…)

Improvements:

Resources Finder:
Provides: -3 food, -3 gold, 33-times higher chance to detect resources (compared to a mine) can also find OIL
(LATE game Improvement (so it’s not overpowered) – if you found a resource, you should build a mine to replace the Resources Finder)


Additional Changes:

Panzer Unit:
Reduced the +50% against Armor Units to +15% ; + free promotion combat1+2​

Fantastic idea! One problem, though. The way it's set up, you actually need 10 harbours and 10 airports to build the National Travel Agency, not 5 as you said. I was disappointed because I didn't have enough coastal towns for this.
 
hmm, are you sure? i will check this, but it should work with 5 harbours and 5 airports - and if you want other preconditions only change the CIV4BuildingInfos.xml file:

I believe these numbers scale with map size.
 
I usually play on a huge map, so maybe that's the hiccup. I'll try "Archipelago" next time so I can build as many coastal cities as possible. Thanks och tack saa mycket!
 
Fantastic mod! I finally got the National Travel Agency built - very cool. The sea full of jungle surrounding the cute litte tiki huts - not just the delicate coastal palms as in your screenshots - was a little bizarre, but very pretty nonetheless. And just like with any resort, the city the built it immediately experienced starvation. Nice touch! :)

My only suggestion would be to reduce the cost of the worker troops (how about 'resort builders') from 1000 to 100. I understand the logic in that they're powerful little things, but by the time you have all the requirements to build the agency and then have it built, the game is close to finishing.

i didnt know that with the 10 harbours/airports on huge maps. maybe i should change the "iNumBuildingNeeded" number in the xml file to 3 for harbours?

the thing with the starvation is because if you build a holiday resort you place a jungle feature title on the coast title which provides -1 food and -0.25 health. this should reflect the fact, that you make money on a holiday resort and no food (-1 food) and also you have a lot of environmental pollution like rubbis, aircraft noise, ... (-0.25 health) which have negativ effects on the people who live there. (but this will be compensated with the wonder +2health/happiness in all cities <- reflect the possibility to have nice holidays and to relax ;) :lol: ).
(v0.2: If you want to get rid of the -1food and -.25health you have to build a National Park on the Holiday Village - will upgrade the village to town and provides +1 prod. and +0.4 health.)

the only "bad" thing with the jungle title feature is the +50% def and the +1 movement cost!
maybe you can say that for military units it is "forbidden" to 'sail' through a holiday resort and if they really have to they have to make it "decent" and this will cost one extra movement ;).
for the extra 50% def... maybe because of the shoals...

the problem with the "delicate coastal palms":
that is a video card (or driver) problem!! i also have stranges grafic "effects" on my old laptop (sis650 card) but if you have a "proper" video card it should work like in the screenshoots above!

i was actually thinking about to remove the ability to build this units and let them only be available whith the wonder, but this unit is really a end game unit and so,...
but should i really change the costs to 100? i dont want to overpower the unit/wonder.

Excellent new wonders you've got planned!

As for the resort builders, maybe 100 is too low, but I still think 1000 is too high. In fact, I think you could stand to reduce the shield cost for all your monuments a bit - maybe by 1/3.

What about if you made it so that any city could build resort builders once the travel agency has been built, but still kept the shield cost relatively high (although lower than 1000)?
 
Wow, nice stuff GIR. Any plans to add the Lost Wonders and Lost Units mod to yours? I can't live without those. :)
 
I just made some forests and windmills in the sea while a volcano was erupting near my jungle resorts and marine tiki huts (no damage to the resorts). It was fun!

sorry, but i dont think i will make a new version (too much work - i have to learn for exam, but i still play too much civ, damn cIV! :( :lol: )

use one of the other great "merge" mods around fanatics forum for example Mega Mod by Galindusor or Sevo's Civ Fanatics Fusion mod.
i have merged a few of the monument wonders with this mods - pm me if you want the "patched" files...
 
ok, here are the „patched files“ (they include a few new wonders,…):

this files only work with the SevoMod Version 2.01. if you want to use it, you have to install the SevoMod first!

what is new:

the sevomod is untouched.

more wonders (from monument mod (not all)): slightly changes (the first post is not up to date) - see civilopedia ( sevopedia ;- )
(also see at history in the civilopedia for all python caused changes ( for example wonder gives free units…))

navy seals are back (but you only will get them with the National Special Force Training Camp). <-- this wonder now uses some code from RogerBacon great “Training Barracks mod” (10% chance to get +1 free exp every turn (up to max 10 exp per unit in the city with this nat. wonder))

additional changes:

there was one thing i disagreed with...

it's in the lost unit mod…
the end of the "unit upgrade line" for the siege weapons was the hotwitzer with movement 2 (and it is the best siege weapon).
i don’t like this, because with that unit you don’t have to decide between a quick rush with only tanks and mech. inf. (and fighter & bombers) or a "unhasty" rush with this units and a slow artillery, because you have a fast hotwitzer :(.
so i added a new unit in the mod. now you can choose to upgrade your artillery to a (slightly weaker) hotwitzer or to a adv. artillery.
(this change wasn’t made for more realistic – it was only made to improve gameplay – just my opinion)

(If you want to rename the mod (for example sevomod_xyz) you also have to change the mods\sevomod_xyz\assets\xml\art\ CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml file.
In-file changes:
Instead of: Mods/Sevomod/Assets/Art/Movies/CircusMaximus.bik you have to write: Mods/Sevomod_xyz/Assets/Art/Movies/CircusMaximus.bik for all new wonders in the lost wonder mod and monument mod.
@Sevo: this is the reason why some of the users cant see the new movies --> change the
Mods/Lost Wonders/Assets/Art/Movies/lost_wonder_mod_wonder_xyz.bik strings)
