"White flag" syndrome

I downloaded a couple of mods, but while everyone else seems able to see the newly-drawn flags, for one mod all I get is a white flag.

I am not the only one, and I would discount this being down to a graphics card, as another guy has the same identical problem on a GeForce (and I'm on ATI).

Anyone else encountering problems like these? What is a recommended DDS viewer/editor that I can use to see the flag image files?

I dont know but It could have to do with your desktop colours i.e. 16 bits, 32 bits etc.

I don't see how. It's always on 32-bit, and all official Civ flags that I've tried work, and out of two mods, one is working and one is not.

I've tried running the game ond High->low graphics settings, nothing.

Yugoslavia. The Mod creator already made 4 different DDS files available to me. I tried them all, changing the XML code accordingly - nothing.

Some of Turkish MOD players had similar problems with my Turkish flag. The problem occurs only to some players while the rest don't have the problem. I checked some other flags which work, but can't find the source of the problem.

For another mod, "Serbia", I also had a problem. Mod Creator, Velja, created two DDS files for flags. None worked, gave me white flags.

However, Lankou did something to the file, and posted it here:

And that is the only one that worked.

I already PM'd Lankou, but I was hoping someone else could have any clues? Is there some different format or settings about DDS flags that could differ and cause problems for others, but OK for majority?
