Does Civ IV works in XP 64? Because I´m considering upgrading to that OS and I want to make sure Civ IV runs well...

It works well for me. I have a pretty low end Athlon64, and only 512MB of RAM, but I haven't gotten a single CTD after the patch.

Zero crashes. No bugs. No complaints.

Neither of the answers reply to the question.

If im not completely wrong, question asked was if the Civ 4 works with the _Operating System_ Windows XP 64.

Not the Athlon processor.

Hey everybody!
Just a quick question, are there any retailers that carry Windows XP 64 in the U.S.?
I was at a local best buy last night and didnt see it, can you only order it online or what? I have a Athlon 64 3400+ and would like the OS.

alos there is a MS program where you can replace your legal XP 32-bit pro version for 64 bit one for free.

I bought WinXP academically and it came with a Win64 CD! That's a cool deal. This is special to universities who have a site license from MS and can resell the CDs. Anyway, the Win64 cd does exist.

I bought my copy when I went to the Pentium 64 bit chip, OEM 150 bucks.

Civ plays like a dream, but don't expect a performance boost unless the app is 64 bit. Civ isn't.
