Standalone Patch v1.52 Download

I had posted this in the patch sticky but that thread is getting to be 2 long (and the auther hasn't added it to the first page) so since i am heading to bed and can't keep pointing ppl to this I figured i would start a new thread for it.

Anyway for all those who are having trouble downloading the patch with the ingame editor I have uploaded the patchfile to my server (my host is gona kill me) for you all to download.

I was unable to get the patch via the normal game route so I have just downloaded it from your link above (took just 2 mins on a 2MB connection

) and am happy to have it saved as a proper file, in case I ever need to reinstall the game. The update has been applied successfully - I have yet to check out the changes, I just thought I would report in here first to thank you and to bump the thread for others to see.

Bah, it needs subscription for download acclerators.

And there is no point using dial-up without dowload acclerators (lots of disconnections, long download time).

Bah...
All 3 direct links are usless for me (including Apolyton one that does not support even resume).

Had to use System Restore, the file couldn't be deleted normally, and the associated processes couldn't be killed :-s

I don't know about those other problems, but I downloaded directly from the Civ IV website after 2 failed attempts downloading through the original game. So far the install is going smoothly. I'm crossing my fingers!

My Host killed it on me. oh well At least someone else got it hosted in anothr location

Do not download this!!!

This IS the file I downloaded with the in-game update option. I really don't know what could be wrong, unless Rapidshare "rapes" all hosted files.

File size looks okay. Perhaps Junuxx wasn't right after all.

@ Crimson Shadow and Frollo:

Somehow when I followed that link I got a file with the correct name but only 11 kB. When I noticed that, however, I had already double-clicked it. Then I couldn't get rid of the file and some 3 system processes. I don't know why it happened and I'm not blaming you (CS). At least I'm glad you don't have the problem.

It was really annoying to get rid of it, sorry for my somewhat aggressive response.

I had no problem with your file, Crimson Shadow! But then I grabbed it earlier than others posting here - I was the 6th person to d/l it according to that site.

It worked great - game is patched correctly and works just fine! :goodjob:

Sorry your host didn't like it, their server probably started getting hammered all of a sudden by 100's of desperate civvers and they didn't know what had hit them!

You kidding me? I blew through what was left of 100GB a month bandwidth allowance in about 3hrs

My sites normal use atm is only hosting my mod so if you think about it that patch was downloaded from me alot lol. I actually had to find an alternate place to host the new version of my mod because of it :lol:
