PBEM for Black Terrain problem gamers

I'm trying to set up a game (my 1st) with revealed terrain from the beggining.
Every one is welcomed, but this one may be interesting for those guys who have the black terrain problem.

I had this problem AND my cursor was flickering. I replaced my old ATI card with a new one and all is fine. $80. If you replace your card check to see if the current card AGP or PCI so you get the right version.

Thanks for your help, but I'm running on a laptop, so the investment would be slightly more than that (new PC).
