I have read a lot about cd 1 and cd2, but I have only one cd. I have also been to the store and changed it, but there is also only one cd in that box.
When I'm starting to play I get the error message up who says: put in the correct cd. What is wrong with my cd? I only have one.
please help me.

That' the game's copy protection shutting you down. Are you running any emulation software (alcohol, daemon, nero)? If so uninstall them and try again. If that doesn't work there is a program called sd4hide (google search it) that works around the copy protection. It is perfectly legal as long as you purchaced the game.

I don't running any programs like you wrote down, but I have bougth the game and there were only one cd in it, and why is it standing that I have to put in cd nr 2 then? and what can I do? I have the dvd version

I have the DVD version of Civ 4 but when try to play the game an error pops up asking for CD 2. ITS NOT A CD!!!! Why this wasn't spotted during testing I don't know, and there is absolutely NO support on the 2K games or Civ 4 website - the error message is reported, but only for the CD version! ARRGH!!! I have sent an email to 2K games but they haven't replied yet. Please help.

To the original poster - if you have the CD version of the game then you should have TWO CDs in the box. If it's a DVD version then there is just the ONE disk. I think the USA distribution is on CD with other countries (Europe etc.) getting the DVD because of the extra language files etc.

It should say on the box which version you have - if it's CD then you need to take it back to the store for yet another exchange and open the new box in front of them to check that you have two disks before you go home again. Maybe your store got a bad batch of boxes all of which had just one cd.

To Frazzer: I have no problems with my DVD version so I can confirm that it CAN run correctly without this non-existent CD2 nonsense. Don't know what to suggest except, perhaps, to try removing the game and reinstalling it again?? If you have more than one DVD drive try using the first in your drives list to install and then subsequently to run the game. Maybe it's just a general complaint message meaning "I can't find the disk" rather than a specific "I want CD2!". Am just guessing, though.

I have the dvd version and that is the one who asks for cd two, what can I do then? Maby I'll go and change the game into battlefield two or something, if someone can not help.
