problems: cd vs dvd versions?

I've been reading these forums for about a month and have been wondering something. Civilization IV is available in two media types: cd and dvd. The problem/bug reports in these forums rarely mention system specs, let alone the version of Civilization IV. So...
Is there any correlation between the media type (cd vs dvd) and any of the problems users are experiencing? I would imagine that if there are any correlations that installation and patching problems would be most likely.

Hmm, nobody has mentioned that possibility yet.

However, I am almost positive that there is no difference whatsoever in the code of the game between the two versions.

I would imagine the only difference would be the fact that you have to put in a 2nd CD for the CD version, but it's only 1 DVD.
