One of the stranger quirks of the current government mandates that the Assembly decide on the location of all cities. To that end, as the head of the Assembly, I'd like to get the ball rolling on placing our first city. The above screenshot provides the current location of our lone settler.

I'd also like to be the first to suggest placing the city where the settler stands. It's all nice terrain, and also aviods placing the desert to the south in the would-be 21 tile radius.

settle in place is just fine.

a member of our partee, Sheep Boy, has suggested Boaring Wallow as a name in honour of the resource... I second it :)

settle there, we have a lake, hills, forest and some pigs in the north

name to come later

Agreed, settle right where we are.

Where we are, Where we are, Where we are!!!!

Settle in Place and i nominate Deltopolis as the city is on what could be a very important river delta.:goodjob: Keep nominating names people!

Note: what you see there is not a river delta, as a delta would be flowing into something (a lake, sea, or ocean). That is actually the source of the river.

I would like to stick to a more historical set of names (at least for cities and geographical landmarks). We started as the Egyptians, right next to a potentially long river with alot of floodplains. I think that it's only fitting that we name this river the Nile.

I would like to name the lake to our southwest Lake Tana, and the city Bahir Dar. Lake Tana is considered the source of the Blue Nile (there is a small part of the river that runs northward to Lake Tana but it is not named the Nile), and the city Bahir Dar is located where the river comes out of the lake - it fits the geography of our start location almost perfectly.

When will a poll be posted about the city name and whether to settle in plkace or not?

I think we should settle one space to the right of where we are.
reason? .. .

good point. I just wanted a reason. if there was none that was fine... I'm still learning here as is (I suspect) most everyone.

I absolutely second this idea.
