Welcome one, welcome all, to the amazing, stupendous, brilliant, unrecognized, OFFICE OF THE NAME!!!!!!

Thats right, here you will find lists and nominees and arguements and POPCORN!. Actually, i love naming stuff in civ, it is awesome, and the debates for naming stuff in the demogame got my blood flowing again. So i created this thread to keep the lists of nominees for all things that fall under my jurisdiction as Chief Officer of the Name. I am open tto a deputy. Also you are encouraged to post suggestions/nominations for names or things from units to cities(maybe even landmarks) in here. Lets Go!

Nominations for the Name of the Second City if it is at the current location in the Intiative Poll
Port Horse
Choke Port

Currently Named Things:

Country= Licentia( at least for now)
Motto= "Walk like an Egyptian"( at least for now)
Anthem= People or Licentia
Capital= Boaring Wallow

Never be afraid to post an idea in here, there are no not good namesI]
 
Is it only you that decides the names of things?? or are things put to a vote. I searched the Constitution thread and either I am not searching for the right lawyer speak or it doesn't mention how exactly things are named.

I nominate Fattieland for the country name
 
I don't decide anything at all. I have no Power at All. None, Zippo, Nadda. I just make the lists.:D

Those are all already in the lists, hopefully the powers the be will post the polls soon so we can all vote. Wow, i cannot beleive the fattieland even made the list. But with the pigs, who knows?:lol: The idiots partee is gaining strength so fast. Wow

I nominate my flag and country name.

Also I think a good capitol would be Alletra.

Obvious and obligatory name candidate of the Capital City (and of all other cities): game default aka no change (for the first city, it would be Thebes).

I was promised a name poll in a few hours, 21 HOURS AGO!!!! (just Kidding)(or Am I) (Yup I am) (but do hurry up Octavian) (itwould be greatly Appreciated) (maybe)
 
I would like to nominate that we add AA to the end of whichever name we chose. It would be like DC, except that AA would stand for Area of AlphaWolf. Examples would be Boaring WallowAA, DeltopolisAA, or ThebesAA. We could then say XAA, X, or just AA when talking about the city. We could also make it lowercase for the people who don't like the uppercase at the end.
 
Does anyone know what the official naming of units and land marks rule is. Even if its unofficial(some don't like the billboard cluttered landscape look), I bet a lot of people would be interested in River and lake and unit nameing(such as me)!
 
- If you want to name units, you should edit your citizen registry post in the citizen registry thread to reflect it.

- As for landmarks, I don't think they're saved into the game data. (I've mentioned this to Firaxis, but I'm betting it's one of those low priority items.)

EDIT: Just checked - seems that data is saved now. (when I checked in 1.00, it didn't work).

However, strategy lines are not saved.
