This citizen initiative poll is for the purpose of ratifying an amendment to the Code of Laws allowing the impeachement of Govenors. This poll will run for 4 days beginning with the posting of this poll. For this amendment to pass this poll will require a 6/10 majority of the votes cast.

Current Text of Code of Laws Section 7C Impeachment

C) Impeachment of Governors

I. Governors may not be Impeached.

Proposed Amendment:


C) Impeachment of Governors
I. The Citizens Assembly may bring an Impeachment Vote against a Governor.

II. An Impeachment Vote requires a 60/100 (60%) majority to pass.

III. A successful Impeachment Vote shall remove the specific Governor named in it from office.

DaveShack, please mention the poll is public next time. I know it's rather obvious, but you are trying to do things as formally correct as possible, so.
 
Or you could look through some of the old threads to see why ...

Originally, Governors were impeached only by the Governor's council, yielding an exploit by a political party to gain control of all Governor-ships. (Get 60% of Council, impeach the rest. Repeat until only party member's are in the office).

You were really waiting for me? The beauty of my system allows for the poll to be assumed valid 48 hours after it closes. :)

Close enough. As Censor, I hereby find this poll to be official and valid as a binding Initiative of the Citizen's Assembly.
