Heil! German supremacy must prevail. The Allies must and will be destroyed. Nothing short of world domination will suffice!

Grrrrr!

*Open for discussion...

Leader: Bismark
Difficulty: Prince
Map Size: Standard
Map Type: Terra
AI: England, America, Russia, Italy, Japan*
Victory Conditions: Domination, Conquest & Diplomacy
Speed: Epic

Variants:
1. We must be friendly with Italy and Japan.
2. We must destroy the Allies.
3. Ideally, we'd found Christianity and spread it to our allies (stop Judaism).
4. Sharing tech with Italy/Japan to keep them friendly and in our wars.
5. If an ally converts to Judaism, we must convert them to something else.

The Germans were innovators when it came to Rocketry (V2), so it'd be nice to get that first although I don't think it gives us any real advantage.

Potential problems. Wiping out the allies may not be enough to get a domination victory, in which case...who wants to share world domination? Or, should I create the teams in game setup to make life easier?

Suggestions welcome!

Hi there,

I would be interested in playing this round, if you would have me. I am very new here, and recently started a practice Elear game, but Prince difficulty would be the ideal first 'public' SG for me to enter into, as I know I can reliably win as such.

I have no problem with your suggested game setup. But I would say that we should not set the teams up at the beginning, we should play through the game as naturally as possible, and then if it turns out that we don't have enough for a domination victory simply by taking out the Allied forces, we can turn the german war machine around and start marching towards any other inconveniences.

I wont be able to play a round right now, about to leave for work - I work a night shift - but would be able to play it in about 10-11 hours if it is even started by then.

If you don't want a new guy in your game though, that is certainly ok by me, and I will just lurk instead. :)

Hi. I'll stick you on the roster, but we won't be starting until there's a full roster. I was veering towards a natural play as well. If we need more land, we need more land. Simple as that. The fact we would have been sharing resources/tech with Japan/Italy will make them tough opponents to beat if we need to. Should be interesting.

I'm not worried about you being an SG noob. I've only played one myself. I found I had problems getting into them before they filled up, so I decided my first one shall be my own one! Once we've got a few more people on the roster and thrashed out settings for the game, I'll post a start screen for some pre-game discussion and get rolling.

Heil Naithin!

I'd be up for it. I'm in 3 SGs right now though, so if this one got started up with me on roster, I might be a little slower than usual with playing.

I would like to play , i havent played a SG yet mostly due to comp problems , but with those out of the way i would really wanna give it a try.
I would prefer a normal aproach as well no locked teams , if we happen to be short on landmass even after conquering the allies we will decide in the game or perhaps be forced for a diffrend victory condition?

As for founding Christianity , i would suggest 2 aproaches .
1) Try to get Stonehenge and use the first prophet for founding Christianity .
2) Try to build the oracle and get Theology as free tech : we would need priesthood (to even start building the oracle offcourse) masonry , polytheism , monotheism and writing before completing the oracle.

id liek to play, never played SG before so explain? how what... oh and i never played on-line or PBEM before, but i play single player regularly (if that counts for anything)

Kentharu, you have been added to the roster. An SG game is a pretty simple concept. Look at a couple of ongoing games to get an idea of how it works, but basically, we play in sequence.

I will go first, taking twenty turns (to get some of the boring stuff out of the way), the next two players will take fifteen turns then everyone gets ten turns from then on. Once you've finished your turn, post the save file in this thread with a turn report and screenshots of relevant information (if you want to get that detailed). You'll get a good idea of how this works, as you're last and you'll see us do it first. Remember to stick to the variant rules in the first post however, as they can't be enforced.

Usually, when it's your turn, you have 24 hours to pick up the save file, and 48 hours to play and post your report. If this doesn't happen, then you are skipped and put on hold in the game.

Ze German nation iz about to be settled.

Ve have ze option of settling in place, or ve could move SE to settle on ze hill for extra defense against early Resistance attacks (Barbarians). Ve vould hopefully uncover some resources and vould still have ze river for trade routes and agriculture.

I vill start ze game tventy-four hours from now, giving everyone the opportunity to have a say.

Note that I have enabled the Diplomacy victory and also we're playin at Marathon as opposed to Epic. I enabled Diplomacy as it's as much a part of war as blowing people up! :)

Heil!

Marathon?!

Crazy I tell you! But hey, I'm up for it.

I would go for moving the scout to the east hill from where it is at the moment. Then provided nothing enlightens us further, probably settle in place. Although I am not totally opposed to moving one square to the hill SE you have marked out if it turns out the area around it is decent.

As Naith said, move the scout, onto hill, usually a capital has got at least 2 resources in its radius, so hopefully we'll have a food resource somewhere in there. We got a lot of hills which means Berlin is looking like a good production city.

I would move the scout on the hill that u marked and look at the surroundings , i would probebly settle on the spot though , if we do our job right we wont let the barbs get that close to Berlin anyway :)

i can't do screen shots though lol my comp won't see the terrain, it sees the cities the units the improvments on the land but i can't see the terrain (its completely black) oh and i can see rivers thats and the coast line... thats it i can still play it but im kinda semi blind (i can leave my mouse over the terrain to get all the details so i still know what exactly all the tiles are)

So the Scout revealed nothing of any real interest, so I settled in place. Don't know how big our continent is yet, but we are sharing it with at least Tokugowa (which may make things difficult with friendship when our borders get close), and Catherine, so note that she may be our first target.

I've gone for Agriculture first, and then Wheel and I think we should follow up with Pottery...we're gonna need those cottages to keep up with Catherine's research rate.

As for the dotmap. We should concentrate on securing our corner of the continent, because of this, I think we should settle the blue and white spots first (we don't know how close our neighbours are). This would still leave a path at the north of the island, so the yellow one should probably be settled next, then we would have a nice enclosed area.

Also, fairly standard tactics...build a few warriors and send them on de-fogging jobs. Remember we can already build Archers thanks to the free tech from villagers.

Please pop a new roster after your turn reports to make it easy to see who's next. Standard 24/48 rules on this one...

I took a quick look at the game and it seems Tokugawa is very close .
His borders show up already (see screenshot 1)
I also made a attempt at a dot map , mine has more overlap but uses pretty much all tiles , while JezusOnEez is better spread but misses quite a few usefull tiles. Lets discus what would be better for us.

Green and red dot could work quite a few specialists and would mostly get its production from getting :whipped: , the capitol can spare a few tiles early game but later on they should get all of them.
Considering Toku is so close we should settle blue and white dot asap , i would perfer blue dot cause of the ivory.
Note for the next player , could you possible clear the coast line so we make sure we can see all the sea food and settle in the proper place.
