After seeing too many left wing and atheistic modifications to this game, and observing how Christianity becomes so very weak in Civilization IV itself, which is ahistorical, I decided rather than complain about it, to instead create an unabashedly pro-Christian mod which adds on the following:

NEW LEADERS:

AMERICA

JESUS CHRIST
Spiritual, Philosophical

GEORGE W. BUSH
Spiritual, Aggressive

RELIGIOUS MODIFICATIONS:

Christianity

800% Conversation rate
8 Culture
6 Gold

I don't intend everyone to like this mod and that is fine. I did not make it for everyone just for people who wanted to see a more powerful Christianity with Christian leaders. If you don't like it, you need not download it.

This mod will not be changed or altered in any shape or form. It is what it is. God Bless.

If you want more Christian religious groups you can extract that part from the Eurpoa Europa mod. Currently in my game I have Protastantism, Catholiic, Reformed, and Orthadox.

Roger Bacon

PS. Where are the left-wing and atheistic mods you mention. The only thing I saw was an anti Bush mod but hte author clearly stated it was just a joke.

Interesting. It's nice to see someone put a very personal spin on the game. It's also nice to see someone who, instead of complaining about "too many left wing and atheistic modifications to this game" and actually doing something about it.

I would like to point out that Christianity is no weaker than any other religion. The designers only wanted to avoid offending anyone.

I thought Jesus was Roman?

I like the additon of GB as american leader, laughed at JC as the leader, Think the Mod is quite funny, appluade you effort in it, and i am pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and think it would be awesome if you could add Crusades into the mod, and 2 civics, Liberal Media, and Relegious Right( after freedom of religion, gives all hte benfits of freedom of religon, except it gives you +2 happys for haveing christian cities).

I such a hippie!

No. Techincally, Jesus was Middle Eastern, having been born in Bethlehem, which, if I remember correctly, is around 50 miles or so from Jerusalem.

Jesus, however, was hated, and perhaps even feared, by the Romans. Around 400 A.D., the Romans were the biggest reason Christianity spread, what with the emporoer Constantine converting to Christianity.

Edit: I'm no biblical scholar, so don't think I'm 100% certain about this.

Edit2: Is it possible to alter/create new leader traits? Because I was thinking that, since Jesus was really popular among the common people, he could have a trait that increases his cities' growth rate. WHile we're going for the whole Bible image of Jesus, we might as well go all the way.

JESUS CHRIST
Spiritual, Philosophical
favorite civic : Theocracy

GEORGE W. BUSH
Spiritual, Aggressive
Favorite civic: police state

Thank you bodyochrist, I am not inspired to make an atheist mod.

"God is dead."

Christianity is pretty week in the game because it comes relatively late. Also, because most of the prereqs are other techs that found religions, it's usually founded by civs that have already founded and established another one. The vast majority of my games heavily feature Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confucianism.

Good point, bob. I don't usually get more than one religion, so I'm not familiar with that dynamic of gameplay. However, my comparison was purely theoretical (i.e. comparing the XML stats) instead of in-game.

Common misconception. He was actually born in Texas.

Silly me. How could I have forgotten?

Thank you, thank you! You've been a beuatiful audience! I'll be here all week!

mhhh I think this thread will get lot of feedback, either from christian people and from not christian people.
Though, I think no one should criticize any religion, philosophy or way of living in the domain of spiritualism. In this field, nothing has ever been proved and it's all based on faith, so no one and everyone is right. The only "mandatory" trait of beliefs today should be tolerance and respect. I don't understand why so many religions want to spread or want to set their way as the only right one. A "good" religion doesn't need that : if people think it's good, they'll follow it,if they don't think, they won't. Religion is a very personal question, respect everyones faith.

I just wanted to say that for trying to keep this thread from becoming a preacher fight.

Now i'd like to know why Jesus is leader of America? And I think you shouldn't get him as a leader but God, and the UU would be Jesus, who is a missionary that doesn't disapear when converting a city. The limit should be one and only for your civ, and you would keep the benefits of christianity.

This way to bring more Christianity in a mod, BodyofChrist, is not a very wise one. The main thing to do something in this matter should not be the hate against left wings and atheism, but love to Jesus Christ. To make Jesus and Bush as the two leaders of a new Civ in a Mod, this is more then one sin. I'm offended like GeorgeOP, even I am not right winged.

I agree with RogerBacon, the Europa Europe Mod from ArbitraryGuy is still the best way to change Christianity in a mod until now.

I am also working for a mod to change the Christianity and other things. But this is not the day to publish it. It is still in the dockyard of patience and pacifism.
