WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, his spokeswoman said Sunday.

Harry Whittington, 78, was “alert and doing fine” after Cheney sprayed Whittington with shotgun pellets on Saturday at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas, said property owner Katharine Armstrong.

Armstrong said Cheney turned to shoot a bird and accidentally hit Whittington. She said Whittington was taken to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Im sure it was an accident but i can bet you this will get an awful hell of a lot of publicity.

Well, if you can't go hunting without shooting somebody then you may be right. And I thought it was only the drunks ones we had to worry about.

Maybe he was drunk? You never know. But even if it was neglegence on his part im sure the white house and the government would some how cover it up.

Cheney is trying to murder someone!! Impeach him and find a new Vice President!

What's the problem? We are at war. The Vice President has authority to shoot whoever he wants. It's a shame he wasn't lame duck hunting.
 
They should send Cheney duck hunting in Iraq. He might be able to take down some insurgents. ;)
