Next Level Earth 1.1

Next Level Earth is a map of the earth 100 by 56 made by smellymummy with preplaced cities for 16 different civilizations, some of which are from the Next Level Mod by CivArmy s. 1994. Only civilizations from the old world are included, making the exploration and colonization of the new world much more realistic. Each civilization starts with two cities, some in normal positions and others not. For instance, Arabia's two cities are Mecca and Thebes. England has London and Dublin, while Spain gets Madrid and Casablanca. The civilizations included are:

Arabia
England
India
China
Japan
Germany
Spain
France
Rome
Mali
Russia
Khmer
Polynesia
Vikings
Nguni
Turks

This map requires Next Level Mod from CivArmy s. 1994. Unfortuanately his newest version, v2, doesn't work on my map. Hopefully he himself will allow me to post the old version so that people can have the right version for my scenario.

This map is still new and may have bugs, especially with resource placement.
I tried to place it so to improve the need for trade.

Version 1.0
-Map is released with 15 civilizations correctly placed with two cities each.

Version 1.1
-France is added
-Polynesia no longer starts the game with Mysticism
-Some Pacific islands are now larger
-Northeast Siberia now contains more tundra
-The Arabian Peninsula now contains less desert and more plains
-More barbarian animals are added to Africa and Siberia

To install the file just unzip the compressed folder, copy the WBS file named Next Level Earth 1.1, and paste it into public maps. If you have any problems please tell me them immeadiately.

Version 1.0 Removed After 643 DLs

Many thxs for including japan:D

Looks interesting. I think you forgot to put Spain in the list, though (it's probably a typo). I haven´t downloaded it yet, but I understand Spain is a playable civ, since you mention it, right?

looks good...one question are there or will there be barbarian states implmented for example maybe paris and athens or any others... could add more realism...

Looks great. And that 2nd city may give more action to the scenario.

Arrrr... The game crashes after loading the scenario... Any idea?

Erm i hate to say this but Great mod i now officaly like your maps more than emporers:lol:

Woo-hoo, I'm finally beating out emp0rer! And to Ubertoaster, the main reason I didn't include the French was because I had decided on only 15 civilizations to help people with slower computers (that's also why it's on 100 by 56 map) and also Europe was already very crowded. It was either France, Germany, or Spain, and France lost out. If enough people want France I might add it in in a later version.

Has anyone had a chance to try it out? If you find any sort of problems with the Polynesian AI please tell me because it is very difficult to get them to expand as quickly as other civilizations. If they do refuse to grow I may have to experiment with giving them starting places on Austrailia.

It's not only because I'm french but i think France must be in this scenario.

I understand your problem of expension but it's one of the fact that obliged european powers to colonize the world. And if France isn't in the scenario, England will make war with which civilization? And Germany? They will be annoyed. ;)

France played a major role in the exploration and colonization of the new world. Situation of North America is the result of the competition between France and England (like in Asia and in Africa).

I hope France will be in the next version of this scenario.

Only a brief comment, my friends: Why the absent of the Greeks from the map?I believe that, having civilizations like Turks and Romans, we could have some kind of Greek civilization rappresentation...

But, regardless of that, it's a very good "world"...:goodjob:

Sorry about the missing civilizations, but when a few civilizations were in close proximity, I had to remove a few. For instance, Spain and Germany won out over France, and Rome and Turkey won out over Greece. Including France or Greece would lead to a very unfair starting point for the civilizations.

First - Great map idea and implementation.

A couple of comments.

Why start with 2 cities? Not a gripe or anything just a question. I assmue you are "directing" growth by including the second city.

I agree with Gengis_Kai from earlier - Mongolia would be a nice addition to this map. Unleash the hords!
