Users you thought were girls

On the "Getting to know you" thread a list of girls on the forum was made and i thought there were a LOT more (wishfull thinking probably).

My question is :
When you first came to the forum, were there any users that you thought were girls and found out later that they weren't ?

This question is for ppl who have been on this forum for a while.
Were there any new users that you thought were girls and you eventualy found out that they weren't ?

First of all i should say that, the fact that i thought you were a girl is not because of something you said. It was just the FIRST IMPRESSION.
I hope you understand this and that there is no reason for getting to angry at me .

Knight-Dragon - again PLEASE DON'T BANN ME again after ainwood bans me.
(no - i didn't think only moderators were girls)
Dell19 - aren't you a girl ? (your avatar), why aren't you mentioned in that list
Padma - PLEASE DON'T BANN ME, it's just that your user name ends with an "a" and most romanian girl's names end with "a"
Tomoyo - because of the avatar, aren't you a girl, (AGAIN) - why didn't anyone mention you on that list ?
Zarn - because of the avatar again
CivGeneral - are you a girl ? (you were not in the list)
vmxa - i have no idea why
R8XFT - i know you are Rob but when i first saw you, you had an Iceni avatar
Ramius75 - the avatar
Dann - the avatar
Vietcong - ?
Chukchi Husky - don't get upset, i have no idea why
Urederra - ???
Leha - fortunately it says "male" underneath it

That's about it, i think .
So these were FIRST IMPRESSIONS = when i first saw yor name/avatar.

So i want to know if there are other people that thought like this - or is it my subconscience wishfull thinking made me think there were more girls on the forum.

EDIT: And it's not just a joking mocking answer. It's the truth. When I first arrived in OT I remember posting some pics in the babe thread and saying "Now this is perfection". Everyone started saying, no Perfection doesn't look like that. I didn't know who they were talking about, so I presumed Perfection was a woman on here.

Does it seem so odd to you for a man to have a woman in their avatar? IT seems that quite a bit of your list includes people who have chosen women they find attractive as their avatar. (Dell19 is not a woman, incidentally).

Yes it is normal - but when you first see someone with that avatar you think (or maybe wish) he/she/it was that woman.

I think I at one point thought Padma was a girl, masquerouge too.

BTW, CivG is not a girl.

What about your avatar,isn't that a chick with a mustache?Not that there is anything wrong with girls having mustaches.Alot of mediterranean girls have mustaches.

I counteract the girl-avatar issue with my username.

And yeah, I fell for the '-a ending name is feminine' for Padma initially too.

Yes because it ends in a vowel "a" .
AND because cata is short-form of Cătălin (-guy name) AND Cătălina (-girl name).
AND because the name Catalin is the male form of the russian Ekaterina.

I think many others thought i was a girl.

Also - IglooDude i thought you were a girl to but forgot to mention you (despite the name)

Just kidding, I think I assumed at first that luv muffin was a girl because of his avatar and because he said a few things that I wasn't sure of gender wise, but about 3 posts in I was of the impression that if he was a girl then he must be a girl that likes girls

I understand how me, Dell19 and Igloodude might have given the wrong signal because of our avatars but those guys?

This is a forum for, of all things, a PC strategy game. Females here would be as rare as diamonds. With me I actually presume everyone to be a male until otherwise disclosed. For example, for a long time I thought Uiler was male.

I always assume every person on the internet is a man. Its hard to imagine a woman using it.
