I'll get right to the point :)

Each unit is in its own zip, only the models and the textures. To quickly check them out just put them in CustomAssets/Art/Units.

I don't know what the poly-counts for the original units are but the stuff that I added goes as follows:

Swordsman's helm - 278
Axeman's hammer - 403; shoulder pad - 79
Werewolfe's head - 279; claws - 296

Enjoy

Update
- Added a version of the swordsman without the helm.
- The original swordsman zip contained couple of unnecessary files making it a bit bigger, I removed those.

That werewolf is simply amazing. Kael will love you. ;)

You make me want to put werewolves on the Moon!

WOOT!!!

Im definitly borrowing these, awesome job!

Is there debris and dropped weapons in the animation?

:)

Nice but what is that fearsome object at the of the hammerman's weapon? Ork skull? Ram head?

Ok, the models are good, that goes without saying, but that screenshot!!!
You've got style man.

You do realize you are a genius? The werewolf blowed my head off, didn't realize it was possible to use the poor old axeman to do completely different and good model. Two others are perfect too, top quality.

Thanks guys :)

@Dark Russell: It's a quick fix, I'll post the sans-helm version soon.

@Half Fast: Your second guess is right, it's a ram's head. :) I know it's not very clear but it's already a pretty high-poly weapon, I didn't want to give it even more detail.

@sharick: Heh, I just wanted to "kick it up a notch" ;)

@Goblin Fanatic: It's based on a warrior model actually.

In light of that werewolf model I got another idea for a similar "unit transformation", if I manage to get the textures right (the model part should be easy) I think you guys are going to get a kick out it. :D

You're going to need to do a unit lottery like they used to do in Civ3 Rabbit. ;)

AMAZING! I love the double axes. You've just convinced me to download 3ds max.

Okay, I added a version of the swordsman with no helm.

What's a "unit lottery"?

@Robo Magic Man: Well gosh darnit! If everyone downloads 3dsmax and starts making new units I'll be out of a job.

:joke:

Sorry, missed this one. There is no debris but some units do drop their weapons. Interestingly enough it's not the same weapon their holding - those units that drop weapons have an extra weapon model that is hidden by default but is made visible and dropped when they die.

Heh. I very much doubt any form of unit-maker will ever be out of a job...

Amazing ! Swordsman ( aka new axeman) with two axes is just terrific ! And werewolf is awesome too ! How we need some kind of Van Helsing unit to confront it :)
And can u say please how u open nifs in 3DS max ? i only manage to export files to nif but can't import them.

I don't. I open them in the NIF viewer that comes with the max plugins (sceneviewer.exe I think) and then edit them in there.

Where a unitmaker of great renown asks people what they want (in a separate thread) and picks the unit at random and the winner weeps for joy!

what should i say.....
